~ Many Weeks Later ~

It had been just about two months since Shannon had left, since Jeffrey had broken the news about Kristen being pregnant, since Nicholas and Grace had been together and since Stevie had been back from work.

Within that time so many things had happened for the family and everything was beginning to look up as far as each family member and their endeavors went.

Robert was in physical therapy more often than not, gaining the strength to walk every day and although he was standing and taking steps on his own, he still relied on his wheelchair when he went places, but he was beginning to use a cane just around the house and it really was so nice to see him returning to the normality he had always known.

Jeffrey had moved into one of the condominiums he had been helping his father build and he moved Kristen in with him, and even though they were living together, he still spent more time than not in his family home, while she spent time working. They were preparing for their baby that would be due at the end of June and it was exciting but still nerve-racking.

Nicholas was simply getting through his junior year of high school considering he was taking the harder classes in order for his GPA to look good for the sake of getting into medical school, and while he did that with minimal struggle, he was also looking at starting his college courses in order to be ahead of the game before he even graduated high school and with that, Grace was helping him to get things done because her level of education matched his, but she was taking things slower because she didn't even know what she wanted as far as her career went. Handling college level classes, the teenager surely missed his sister because he knew well she could help him with math better than anybody, but she was unavailable.

Meantime, on the other side of things, Shannon was in fact with Damon, living with him full-time, also anticipating his next deployment while she dealt with him lecturing her about apologizing and speaking to her mother for the simple reason that he had respect for her mother and entire family, not exactly wanting to be seen as a bad guy that swooped in and stole their daughter and sister.

Letting off a deep sigh, Stevie settled her head back into the couch as she took a seat, feeling just a certain way. Rubbing her tummy, she took a deep breath and then gathered the strength to stand once more in order to actually make it upstairs like she planned.

Jeffrey then passed by the entry way, seeing how slow his mother was walking.

"Are you alright?" he wondered.

"I'm fine," she nodded and then decided to take a seat at the dining room table. "Have you heard from your sister?" she then asked, knowing well that they had been in contact.

"I haven't heard from her since last week," he assured.

"Hm..." she nodded and then kind of took another deep breath before settling her head in her hand.

"Mom, are you sure you're alright?" he wondered.

"I'm perfect, don't worry about me, I'm just really ready to have this baby at this point and I'm uncomfortable. Where were you off to?" she then asked, changing the subject.

"I'm gonna go pick dad up from physical therapy, we're gonna meet up with Kristen for lunch and then we'll grab Nick from school if he's not gonna be at Grace's."

She nodded, "I think I'm gonna go take a nap," she claimed, standing with ease. "I'm really tired."

"Yeah," he agreed, knowing there was something wrong, although he didn't think a nap would exactly fix whatever she was feeling. "Try to take it easy, we'll be back soon."
