Once Lily had woken up that morning, the day had officially begun.

The two of them threw themselves together after a hot shower, but then Lindsey took off to run some errands, since he wanted them to relax the rest of the day.

It had left Stevie alone with Lily that morning, but easy enough---the woman was cleaning up everything from the day before when a knock filled the front door.

She checked to see that Lily was occupied in her playpen before opening the door.

"Hey, there..." Robert grinned, displaying their grandson to the woman.

"Why, hello, there," she replied with a grin, leaning just slightly to greet the little boy. "Come on in, gentlemen," she moved aside to allow them entry.

The singer had made it very clear to him that he would always be welcome, in what used to be their old home together, but still, he was hesitant on just romping in on her and her new family unless he had the baby with him to break the ice.

"Thank you," he smirked.

She shut the door behind him.

"Are you busy?" he wondered, seeing how she lingered in an all black outfit; Uggs on her feet, yoga pants, a camisole with a sweater on top of it all.

"No, just cleaning up and dusting a few things," she pulled all the hair that framed her face back, leaving the length down in the back before clipping it and reaching for the baby in his arms. "Come sit in the living room," she gestured, pressing kisses to the side of his face.

"Thanks," he nodded, taking a seat in the arm chair near Lily's playpen and he grinned at the sight of her.

Lily was precious to him even if he wasn't able to be that close to her; she was another cut out of her mother and that alone made her so special to him.

He redirected his attention to the blonde, how her left hand wrapped around her grandson's middle.

"That's pretty," he cocked his head, having caught sight of the engagement ring.

She glanced down, "Thanks," she grinned---realizing quickly all the conversation it would most likely bring up. "It is, isn't it?"

"Engagement or promise?" he smiled softly, seeing how delighted she truly was.

"It was Ruth's engagement ring," she explained, taking another glance at it.

"Well, congratulations then," he softly replied. "I'm really happy for you, Steph."

"Thanks!"

She wasn't one to usually gush over jewelry since she bought most of it herself and or inherited it---she just wore it all without a word, but it brought her joy when he pointed it out. That alone told him how special Lindsey was to her.

"And not to worry, I still have yours. You don't not mean anything to me, but it'll be Shannon's when Damon's ready to propose," she assured.

"Oh, jeez," he chuckled. "We didn't have to get that deep, Stevie."

She smirked, knowing the idea of his already grown up, little girl could potentially growing up more really hurt him.

He smirked, shaking his head.

"Anyways..." she sighed. "Not that I'm not thrilled to have visitors, what brings you? Is Kristen alright?" she wondered, making clear eye contact with him.

"She's fine, but I was up early like always and I told her to sleep in---he could come for the ride to take Nick to school," he explained himself, rubbing his hands together.
