Snapping out of my thoughts with tears still in my eyes, the blush on my cheeks returned. Gently removing myself out of Azrael's shoulder, her wolf looked down at me with a small frown.
Tilted her head to the side, I couldn't help but giggle at how adorable she looked. How can anyone be afraid of someone like her?
Azrael's wolf softly smiled at me, lifting a hand and placed it on my cheek. Wiping away my tears with her thumb. "Even when you cry, you're still beautiful, little mate."
A small smile grew on my face, leaning into Azrael's large hand. Raising a hand and tracing a finger over the scar on her lips. "You're adorable, you know that?"
Baring her canines while still smiling, a small laugh left Azrael. It was rough and dry, like she never laughed before and this was her first time.
Leaning down and resting her forehead against mine, Azrael's wolf stared into my eyes with her soft smile still on her lips.
Staring into her pitch black eyes for a moment, I watched as they slowly turned back into red ones. Blinking, Azrael closed her eyes and groaned.
"I apologize Iris if she scared you." Azrael pulled away from me, not moving away from in between my legs.
She sighed, opening her eyes and looked down at me with a tiny frown. "My wolf is a... difficult person to talk to since she has such a short temper and is very rather aggressive to talk to. Especially for a sweet, little thing like yourself."
Removing her hand from my cheek, she ran her fingers through her hair to get it out of her face. She should really tie back her hair if it keeps on bothering her.
"It's okay, Azrael. She didn't scared me at all." Azrael didn't say a word, just stared at me for a moment longer like she didn't believe me before sighing again. "If you say so, little flower."
She winced, shutting her eyes tightly and gripping her head in pain. I looked at her worriedly. What's going on?
Think Azrael felt my worried gaze watching her cause she reluctantly opened her eyes with great effort and looked at me. "It's just my wolf. She's throwing a tantrum. Apologies for making your worry, little mate." She winced again. Guess her wolf didn't like that.
Chuckling as Azrael let out a low grown, rubbing her head, she looked back at me. Her expression softened. "Let's head to my chambers, you must be exhausted. I'll ask one of the warriors to take our dinner to us." Chambers? Does she have a bedroom here?
Lifting me up into her arms without any effort, Azrael held me close as she went over to the door and opened it. Stepping out, the few wolves that were out in the hall quickly turned their attention towards her and bowed, bearing their necks. "Anassa Alpha."
That word again. What does it mean?
Azrael looked around for a moment before her eyes landed on one of the hewolves a few feet away standing next to another hewolf. "You there."
He flinched, but stood up straight, keeping his head down to avoid eye contact. "Yes, Anassa Alpha." Despite the fear coming off of him, his voice was steady and strong.
"Bring dinner for my mate and I to my chambers. We will dine there." He nodded. "Of course, Anassa Alpha."
Not saying another word, Azrael turned and began walking away. When we were down the hall, I asked the question that's been bothering me. "Az, what does Anassa mean? Why is everyone calling you that?"
Azrael looked at me and smiled, still walking down the hall to her chambers. "Something you should worry your pretty little head about, little flower." I pouted at her. What a bully.
"Azrael, why are you so mean to me?" I whined, gripping her fur jacket and hiding my face in her shoulder. She laughed and rubbed my arm.
I ignored her the whole way to her chambers, when she moved her hand from my arm to open the door, I moved my head slightly to see when hearing the sound of the door opening.
Walking in, my head lifted up from Azrael's shoulder. My eyes wander around the room, it was dark, really dark with torches on the wall that were already lit.
There was a giant bed in the middle of the room with a giant fur blanket and a fur carpet underneath it.
Off to the left was a dresser in the corner and a desk with some papers on it. To the right there was another door and a flag on the wall of a wolf's head underneath a crescent moon and it was howling at it.
It was rather simple but detailed at the same time. Wonder why Azrael has that in her bedroom.
Besides that, the room was full of Azrael's scent. So much so that it brought a deep blush onto my cheeks and I squeezed my legs together due to the heat coming from in between them.
Azrael didn't noticed until she sat me down on her bed but didn't say anything about it. "You should lay down and rest, you had a long day today." My head shook.
"Can't, my feet are dirty." Luckily my legs are handing off the side of the bed and didn't get any dirt on it. That'll be gross if I got into bed after walking around inside this mountain with bare feet.
Patting my head, Azrael silently turned around and walked over to the closed door that was in the room. Opening it, she went inside.
I couldn't see what she was doing but could hear the sound of something getting picked up, followed by loud squeaking noise and something being filled.
Soon, the squeaking stopped and Azrael came back. Bucket in hand as she came back over to me.
She knelt down in front of me. Grabbing a rag she had, she wet it with the bucket full of water before squeezing the extra water out.
Facing me, she gently grabbed one of my feet and began wiping it from all the dirt and grime it gathered when I was walking.
Neither of us said anything as I watched her wash my feet. Waiting for her to finish.
