"This was a bad idea." Leo gulped as Azrael sprinted over to us, ignoring that she was in the middle of fighting with the Warriors.
All in the matter of seconds, I was ripped out of Leo's arms and in Azrael's as she punched the hewolf away, causing him to stumble a few feet back as the Alpha above me growled. "Mate! Mine!"
Turning her attention away from Leo, Azrael, with her arms tightly wrapped around me, sending sparks throughout my body, she began rubbing her face against mine and my neck, being mindful of my injuries.
My face became beat red when I realized what she was doing. Scent marking. A warning to other wolves that someone is already claimed by someone else so it'll be best to stay away. Unless you wanna get hurt. Or die.
I've seen Alpha get very possessive over Luna whenever guests were over and hitting on her. He always turns his anger towards me when they leave. Even though I didn't do anything wrong.
Azrael rubbed herself against me for a while before stopping, nuzzling her nose against my neck and breathed in my scent. Relaxing just slightly.
When she was calm enough, she silently got up on her feet. Lifting myself up in her arms, carrying bridal style while holding me close as she turned her backs to the training grounds and began waking away.
Feeling an overwhelming sense of peace and safety, I snuggled into Azrael's embrace. Head on her shoulder and my good hand gripping tightly to her fur jacket.
Looking over her shoulder, everyone was avoiding looking at us. Keeping their heads down or simply not looking in our direction, knowing that Azrael was on the verge of snapping.
Eye contact or simply looking at an Alpha's mate is a huge thing to them. They easily get possessive and protective, which ends up with someone getting hurt if not careful.
Turning my attention away from them, I looked up at woman carrying me in her arms. Without thinking, I reached up and grabbed a strand of her short, pitch black hair, and began playing with it in between my fingers. Feeling the texture of it.
Azrael paid no mind to me or to the blatantly disrespect I was doing, focusing on continuing her journey on wherever she was going. After a while, we reached a familiar cabin.
Opening the door, the two shewolves I saw earlier glanced up at us walking in before quickly looking away. Staying silent and unmoving as the tall woman strolled past them and went over to the staircase. Unlike Leo, Azrael was more careful when dealing with the stairs, climbing them to get to the second floor.
Walking back to the room I was staying in, Azrael paused in the doorway. Looking up at her confused, my head turned and there was Amber tidying up the room.
When hearing the broken door creak open, she glanced back at us. Seeing what was going on, she didn't look fearful like the others as she silently bowed her head, walking over and squeezing past the door and Azrael. Not touching.
With Amber gone, Azrael closed the door behind her and went over to the bed. Gently placing me down on it before climbed onto the bed and hovered over me, trapping me beneath her. Her hands planted on either side of me as she stared down at me. Eyes still midnight while she breathed heavily and trembled.
It was easy to tell that she was holding herself back. Holding back her angry, holding back the urge to tear Leo into shreds, and holding back to mate and mark me.
Hesitantly, I reached up and placed my hands on her cheeks. She instantly relaxed to my touch and leaned in to it, staring down at me.
Studying my face, looking at every little detail before slowly shifting her eyes down. Azrael looked at my neck, eyes narrowing at the giant bruise that was there then looked down at my collarbone which was showing because her shirt was too big on me.
Seeing a few scars peaking out, Azrael's breathing fasten, her trembling worst. Gritting her teeth roughly, she suddenly laid down next to me and pulled me up to her chest. Making me blush when I felt a huge something pressing against my rear.
One arm tightly secured around my waist with the other around my collar. My back firmly against her, Azrael put her nose in my hair. Taking in my scent.
In seconds, her trembles slowly lessen and she fully relaxed. Snuggling her face deeper into my hair. I guess she could tell that I was a little nervous, seeing as I whimpered when she moved her hips just slightly to get more comfortable.
"I'm not..." She paused, still holding herself back from her urges. "I'm not going to mate you without your permission, Iris. I will wait...until you are ready."
A small smile grew on my lips when hearing that. No one ever took my feelings into consideration before. It feels nice that she's not forcing me to do anything I didn't want to do yet.
Maybe, I don't have to reject her.
Grabbing onto her arms, I leaned back into the giant Alpha. Feeling safe enough to close my eyes and fall asleep.
