A few hours later, Azrael brought the elders, Roxie, Leo, their parents, and Amber to have the meeting on what our next plan was. Since I was mostly healed up, we had the meeting in a different room then having it in me and Azrael's room. Being in a larger room with a big table in the middle and a bunch of chairs.
Sitting at the end of said table with Azrael at my side as everyone took their seats, I grabbed her shirt underneath the table so no one else could see. Inching closer to her a little.
This is my first time being in a meeting. Azrael didn't like being me to them these last few months cause she didn't want to bother me with her issue. But as her mate and Luna, it's my job to share the burden of her problems so I'm finally doing my duty.
Gulping down the lump in my throat, I took a deep breath to calm myself. Relaxing even more when Azrael grabbed hold of my hand under the table, rubbing it with her thumb.
"Let the meeting begin." Azrael spoke in the silent room which instantly lead to most of the elders loudly talking over each other to make our next room. "We should strike now while they think we're still down!" A man with a bunch of scars of his face and hands shouted, slamming his fist on the table, cracking it. "Yeah!"
"No, we should wait until winter past! It won't be long before the first snow starts to fall and it would be harder to feed everyone now that the pack has grown so much! We need to focus on that first!"
"We should..."
The yelling was getting more intense as the elders continued to yell at each other about what to do. Azrael looked annoyed, letting out a sigh of annoyance from the bickering.
Looking over at the four member family, Wren and Riley also seemed annoyed by the Elders bickering while their two children looked amused, mostly Leo who was grinning from ear to ear, bouncing in his chair and Roxie watching with a small smile.
Sighing, I rubbed my temple, feeling a headache start to form and my wolf starting to get agitated before snapping a moment later. Taking control and slamming our fist against the table and letting out this loud growl. "Be quiet!"
Breathing heavily, the entire room went silent and everyone turned to look at me wide eyed. Seeing that she had gotten their attention, my wolf let me have control and I quietly thank her. My eyes going back to normal.
"Everyone's point is valid, but screaming at each other like a bunch of chickens isn't going to solve anything." A few elders when to speak but one of the elder woman's raised her hand. "Let her continue." The others closed their mouth, mumbling something under their breath as I nodded my thanks towards the woman before turning back to everyone. "Azrael and I have come up with a plan, we want to use guerilla warfare. It's something humans have made to fight battles when the odds and numbers were against them."
An elder growled at that. "Human!? We will not use human ways to fight our war! We are wolves for Goddess sake."
"Yeah! He's right! We don't need this guerilla warfare! Azrael, tell this girl!" Before things could get out of hand again, I quickly gain back control, leaning forward in my chair, tightly holding onto Azrael's hand as she silently watched me.
"Rogues already use guerilla warfare, mostly the ones that lost their minds or weren't born in a pack." I interrupted, keeping my voice steady despite all eyes on me. "As for Azrael, she was born in a pack and technically wasn't kicked out, so it might be a dirty way to fight for both her and others like her. Especially the many Azrael just bought back with her after I went missing."
I took a deep breath, feeling how dry my mouth was. Azrael tightly held my hand, giving me a comforting squeeze. "What I have learned, the only trick she seemed to use is attack at night which is only slightly like guerilla warfare but what I'm talking about is long term, not a single night." Glancing over at Azrael, she nodded her head. I smiled before turning back to everyone.
"Winter is near yes, but the Royal army has human technology on their side. They have vehicles and ways to store their food long term. They can easily attack when we least expect it. That is why I'm consider sending at least a few hundred warriors to keep them back. Not an out all attack, but to keep them back as long as possible so winter can past. They will have to be sneaky and try not to get caught, they have to be shadows and stick to the darkness. Kill only the leaders at night not the underlings, they're a waste of time, sabotage their vehicles, steal their food, lay traps, make them afraid of the darkness so they don't want to fight anymore." I really need a glass of water from all this talking.
"Werewolves don't fight like that!" The elder with a much of scars yelled, slamming his fist against the table again. Everyone's attention snap towards him. I pity this table. "We face our enemies head on or die trying."
Azrael went to speak but I interrupted her, my eyes narrowed as I stared at the elder across for me. "Times has changed. Our enemy have change the way they fight while we didn't." I tilted my head, not moving my gaze from the elder. "Do you really want to our people to be slaughtered because you're too stubborn to accept that?"
The elder's face turned red from embarrassment and he gritted his teeth. Body trembling. "I am sorry to admit this, but fighting dirty is all we have left if we want to win this war. If we need to play the long game, so be it. As long as it gives us time and saves lives. Any objections?"
No one spoke, just stared at me. Some with wide eyes, a couple with amusement, and a few with wonder, including the woman from before. Looking around and seeing that no one was going to say anything, I nodded my head. "Good." I lead back in my chair. "Now, let's make a complete plan for the long game."
