Staring at the closed door for a moment, I turned back to Az and Roxie when they started talking again. "Alpha."
"Yes, I know." Az sighed, running her fingers through her hair and getting it out of her face. "We leave to Death Rock now. Wren must have receive word already and waiting for our return."
Looking down at me, Az's expression soften and she placed a hand on my cheek. Staring up at her, I leaned into her hand. Her touch is always so warm. "We have important business elsewhere, little flower. Do you mind coming with?"
Without hesitation, I silently shock my head. It was common for me to attend meetings with Alpha, usually I just pour drinks and stand there until it was over. It was really boring.
I usually hate meeting since one tiny slip up meant punishment for embarrassing Alpha in front of his guests but my curiosity is getting the better of me at the moment.
Leaning down and picking me up from the chair, Az turned around and headed for the door. Roxie was quick to run over and open it for us.
Walking outside, it was loud and everyone seemed to be in a rush. Looking slightly panicked as they quickly gathered their things.
The three of us silently sauntered our way past them without any issue, going to the edge of the village which didn't take long. Everything getting quieter the further we got away.
By the time we entered the woods, the only sound I could hear were Az and Roxie's footsteps. After a minute, they stopped and Az sat me down with Roxie already walking away.
"Wait here." Watching confused, Az went behind a tree and after a moment, a large, black fur wolf came out with clothes in their mouth. A small gasp left me with my eyes widening and a blush forming on my cheeks.
In her wolf form, Az was still taller than me by a great deal. Her fur was long and matted, like she hasn't been taking care of it, and the bad odour was even more noticeable.
Coming up to me, Az lowered her head and gently pushed it against me. Forcing me stand, she rubbed her giant body against me as I placed a hand on her, feeling how rough her fur was. She really needs to wash it.
Moving away from me, she laid down on her stomach. I tilted my head confused. "Do...you want me to get on your back or something?" Az looked at me and nodded.
My cheeks darkened and I looked away. This is so embarrassing.
Slowly, I carefully climbed on top Az's back, riding her like a mount. If anyone sees this right now, she's definitely gonna make fun of by her pack mates.
Hearing another pair of footsteps, my gaze looked up to see another wolf with long, tamed dark brown fur with red eyes and clothes hanging in their mouth. My face paled.
Forgot Roxie was with us.
Az suddenly got up on from the ground and my hands tightly grasped onto her fur to not fall. Roxie came over and was at her side, nodding at her, the two suddenly were off.
Running through the woods at such high speeds that I had to lean down and lay on Az since it was too much for me. Head on her back with my ear pressed against her, hearing how fast she was running.
But feeling the wind blow against my face, watching as we darted past trees, and jumping over roots and logs. A huge grin grew on my face and excitement filled me.
I don't remember the last time I was on a run. It's been so long.
Feeling pride through the bond just as Az took a sharp turn to avoid a tree, making me loudly giggle. Then Az sent me a rushing feeling like adrenaline before wonder.
Took me a moment to figure out what she wanted. "Do you want to go on runs with me?" Even through the wind was loudly blowing in our ears, Az could still hear me perfectly fine. I felt confinement and desire from the bond.
My smile fell to a sad one. "Unfortunately I can't shift." There was confusion and then want, it was easy to tell that she wanted answers. My grip on her fur tightened and it took me a minute to answer.
"When I was younger, I shifted all the time like any normal pup, but Alpha ordered me to stop after a small incident and ever since, I haven't been able to shift."
Az didn't respond. Only continued to run along side Roxie in silence as they headed for the mountains that I've seen in the distance.
Don't know how long it took, but it didn't take long for us to reach the bottom of the mountain. Slowly down to a stop, Az lay downed for me to get off.
Standing on my own two feet, her and Roxie went behind some trees to shift back. While they did that, I looked around and spotted a pair of big doors attached to the mountain.
Seeing it, my brows furrowed and I stared at it confused. What's with the big doors? And why are they here of all places? Isn't there a building we have to do to?
Hearing two pairs of feet walking over to me, I turned to see Az and Roxie in their human form, all dressed up. They are extremely fast.
"Let's go." Az didn't even look at me which made me pout. But I didn't say anything since it looked like she was thinking about something.
So I quietly followed after her over to the closed doors with Roxie next to me.
"I've been wondering, Luna." Turning my head to look at the brunette at my side, she was looking straight ahead. Her gaze unwavering. "I can sense that you're a werewolf but can't sense your wolf anywhere." What's up with all these questions about my wolf today?
She paused, looking uncomfortable to keep going but hesitated went on. Sweat running down the side of her face. "Did...did something happen?"
"She was becoming too restless and kept on fighting me to get out. So after a while, I chained her up and send her to the deepest part of my mind to keep her at bay."
Roxie paused in her tracks, looked at me wide eyed, a look of shock and fear on her face. "Why did you do that?"
I stopped and stared back at her, standing right where I was, unmoving and expressionless as a gust of wind blew against me and whisk my hair into the air.
"I did what I had to do to survive."
