Chapter Fourty-Four

Turning back into my human form, I felt... different. For some odd reason. But I ignored that for the time being.

Focusing on my vision that turned from black and blurry to normal, before looking around the forest confused. Turning my gaze down, my cheeks flushed at the sight of me bare.

Hearing the sound of bushes rustling behind me, I snapped my head back. Relaxing at the sight of my mate as she shifted from wolf to human. Also bare for the entire world to see, and I held to hold myself back from throwing myself at her and the two of us having sex till the sun rose.

Cracking her neck before forcing her attention to me, a smirk growing on her lips that only made me blush even more. Covering myself as best I could with only my arms.

After a moment, her smirk fell and her brows furrowed in confusion. Tilting her head to the side. "Iris?" I looked back at her, feeling a little exhausted.

Azrael didn't say anything, just walked over to me and placed a hand on her chin. Studying me in silence which made me start to feel a little self-conscious until she finally spoke.

"Seems like because your old Alpha reframe you from shifting into your wolf form, your growth came to a stop." Huh? "Kind of looks like you grew a couple of inches during that night."

Staring up into Azrael's red eyes with confusion, her eyes suddenly went wide. She smiled down at my naked form breathing slightly heavy.

Watching her kneel down to my height, she gently grabbing my chin, the two of us not breaking eye contact. "Your eyes...are turning into a beautiful shade of red."

My eyes widened as Azrael's smile turned back into a smirk. "Seems like you finally accepted me as your Alpha." I growled at her, baring my teeth in warning.

Her eyes narrowed and darkened, letting out a more aggressive warning growl that made me snap my mouth shut and stare at her with shock. But didn't bare my head in submission.

After a moment, she pressed her lips together and chuckled. "Don't forget your place, Iris." She let go of my chin as I watched with narrow eyes. "I am your Queen."

I scoffed, rolling my eyes while pushing Azrael's face away from me. Softly growling under my breath.

Looking down at me, the Alpha suddenly opened her mouth and licked my hand. My eyes winded and my hand snapped back away from her, the blush returning back to my cheeks. "Azrael! That is disgusting!"

Azrael simply looked at me with a soft smile, her eyes gentle. "Your wolf has the most beautiful dark auburn fur, my love. She's truly a beauty. Her fur is even smooth and untangled, unlike mine." She joked getting up from the ground.

She sighed, running her fingers through her hair. Removing a few tiny leaves that were entangled in it. "Let's head back to camp, you must be starving."

Now that she mentioned it, I am rather hungry. Getting, I turned and walked over to where my clothes were. Feeling Azrael's eyes staring at my rear while doing so.

After putting my clothes back on, I realized that they were a little shorter than usual and were a bit tight on me. Maybe Azrael was right about me growing a few inches.

Turning back to Azrael, she was already dressed and was watching me the entire body. Watching my every move.

"You know..." I started, going up to the Alpha. "It's rude to stare."

Standing right in front of her, staring into her eyes, Azrael only lifted her hand and gently traced a finger over my mark before moving down to place her hand over my stomach. "It isn't rude when you're mine."

Slightly embarrassed, I mumbled that she was mine too and turned around. Heading back to Camp with my mate following.

Back at Camp, some of the warriors were already asleep by the time we got there with the rest talking to each other and a couple on watch.

Gus saved us an entire deer just for me and Azrael, which we quickly ate. Furnished by our wolves little run in the forest.

Our wolves. I like that. It's nice, finally having my wolf back after all these years. Checking up on her, I sense she was asleep so I didn't disturb her, going back to eating which was quickly finished.

Nothing was left escape the bones. But still, I wasn't full and wanted more but didn't want to cause trouble to anyone so I kept that to myself. It was already night and everyone was tired.

I, instead, cuddled up against Azrael as we laid together close to the calm fire. She wrapped her arms around me protectively.

Snugging closer to her, I closed my eyes and falling asleep. Tired from tonight's events.

I woke up when it was early morning. The sun was just started to peak up and no one else was up, not even Azrael. Seeing that, I grinned.

Perhaps I can go on a small run in my wolf form before the others wake up and we have to go back to focusing on our journey.

But when I attempted to get up, I was immediately stopped by a firm arm that was wrapped around my waist. Looking down, it was Azrael. Her grip only tightened on me when trying to move again.

Watching her face to make sure she didn't wake up, I turned back around and gently tried to free myself from her.

Squirming in her arms and I was also free after a minute until Azrael's other arm wrapped around my breast and she pulled me down to her chest.

Firmly holding me there as the arm around my waist tightened. Groaning as she pressed her nose against my hair, taking in my scent.

I hummed annoyed from the fail attempts to get away, relaxing in her hold.

Looks like I have to wait until she loosens her grip to try to sneak away again. Which took a while. And what felt like an hour or two, Azrael's grip finally loosened. Her breathing soft and even.

"Finally." I sighed, gently started to remove her arms off me. "Thank the Goddess."

Sitting up, before I could move away an inch more, an arm suddenly wrapped around my waist again and I was pulled right back down to Azrael's chest while she was still sound asleep.

But growled at me, warning me to stop. I growled right back. "You got to be kidding me." All I want to do is to shift into my wolf form. Is that so hard to ask?
