A young shewolf, hair dark as night that flow all the way to the midst of her back, skin a tan with no scars in sight, wearing a long white sleeve shirt with black pants, and black shoes, was kneeling beside a flower bed of purple irises. Smiling to herself as she plucked out the weeds, not caring that she was getting herself dirty.
"Louloúdi mou." Lifting her head, the girl's smile widened upon seeing a tall, slim, pale woman, hair white as snow, with eyes purple like amethyst. And a wooden crown with moons carved into it that rest on her head. "Mom!"
Pushing herself up, abandoning her task, the girl rushed over to the woman. Standing before her with a spark in her eyes.
Chuckling to her daughter's excitement, Anassa Xenia, Queen of Werewolves and the Mate of The Alpha Basileus, smiled down at her daughter, looking into her sweet and innocent eyes. Placing a hand on her cheek and rubbed it with her thumb.
Blushing, fourteen-year-old Azrael leaned into her mother's hand. Loving the warmness so much so that her foot started to lightly tap against the floor.
Hearing the soft tapping, Anassa Xenia looked down and saw what was happening and chuckled. Shaking her head slightly. "You are so adorable, Louloúdi mou."
Pouting at the Anassa's words, Azrael took a step back, away from her dark hand, and crossed her arms over her chest. "I am not adorable. I'm an Alpha." She mumbled, not looking at her mother.
"Of course you are, my dear." Taking a step, Anassa Xenia bowed her head to place a kiss on Azrael's forehead, making the teen's blush darkened and let out a loud whine, uncrossing her arms. "Mama!" But she didn't move away.
When the Anassa pulled back, Azrael looked up at her, still pouting. Relaxing when she started to speak. "How are the flowers my love?" She looked behind Azrael to look at the bed of irises she was just attending to. "I apologize for not being here to help. Your father needed my opinion on a matter."
"They're doing well, mama. Just a few pesky weeds that needed to be dealt with but other than that, the flowers are fine." Azrael smiled brightly, shifting from foot to foot.
Sighing, Anassa Xenia looked back at her daughter. "Well, let's head back inside now, Louloúdi mou. Dinner is waiting."
"Okay, mama."
Taking her mother's hand, the Anassa and Creusa walked side by side as they headed back inside the stone castle.
Present
"You're the Devil."
Turning her head away from the blazing flames of a burned building, Azrael looked down at the wolf that was forced to stay on his knees by two Rogues. Their hands on his shoulders. He was looking up at her and saw the fire and darkness that took hold of the Alpha Rogue's eyes.
He froze at catching sight of them, unable to look away. His body started to shake uncontrollably. Hearing nothing but the crackling flames from his burning pack house that lit up behind her.
A heavy smell of corpses, blood, and smoke lingered in the air. Making everyone that wasn't use to it cough and over their mouth and nose. But he ignored it.
Gulping, he watched as Azrael leaned down, becoming face to face with him. Staring straight into the man's soul, her dark red eyes holding no emotion except rage. Her cheeks stained with tears and blood.
"Where is my mate." Azrael spoke, her voice crackling at certain spots and becoming deeper. Her wolf there with her, into sync with her person. Their rage running through their veins.
The man started to shake more, tears swelling in his eyes from fear. "I don't...I don't know." He said, his voice tumbling.
Staring at him in silence for a moment, Azrael stood back up. Turning back to the burning building, watching a piece fall to the ground. "Take him away."
The man didn't protect when the two rogues keeping him at bay grabbed and lifted him up on his feet. Dragging the Alpha away from their Anassa. Not even glancing at the brunette woman that was they walked past.
Stopping a few feet away from Azrael, Amber spoke. "She isn't here." Azrael didn't move when hearing that. Seeing this, Amber swallowed her fear and continued to speak. "We're searched a third of the continent. Took down eleven packs in the spam of two weeks. Alpha, if we don't fine her soon then-"
"Amber." Azrael spoke, her voice deep and harsh. Lifting her gaze to look up at the cloudy sky. "The full moon is nearly upon us." Amber didn't say anything at that.
After a moment of silence, Azrael turned and stare down at the older woman. "I'm going to see your mother. She is close by and is a powerful witch. She might locate Iris. I was a fool to leave her alone."
Amber eyes widened at Azrael's words, shocked by what she said. She only snapped out of it when Azrael walked over and past her, moving towards the forest.
"My mother will not appreciate you suddenly dropping in on her. Especially since you killed her beloved pet many years ago." Amber spoke, turning to Azrael who continued to walk away, not answering the halfbreed.
Sighed, Amber turned away. Noticing that Roxie was wavering her down and began heading over to the young shewolf Beta who was leading a group of rogues that were keeping the woman and cubs of the fallen pack at bay.
Walking away from the smell of smoke, Azrael didn't bother to take off her clothes when she shifted into her wolf, ripping them to shreds.
The only thing on her mind was her mate. Her precious mate who she failed to protect. And by the goddess, heaven and earth will feel her wrath until she located her.
Letting out a small growl, Azrael sprinted as fast as she could towards a place she never thought she will visit again. But, she will do anything for her mate.
