It's dark again. I hate the dark. Why does this always happen to me? Why can't the past just stay in the past? Why does it keep coming back and bother me when I'm finally happy. Why am I watching these horrible memories. Unable to do anything to stop them.
Sitting down in the void in darkness, knees up to my chest with my arms wrapped around them. I watched with tears in my eyes as younger me, around four, played with a red toy car.
Sitting on the wooden floor as my mother, or the Luna of the Golden River Pack, sat at her vanity, fixing up her makeup that looked kind of beautiful on her.
Then, a young Elijah came through the door. Looking around and saw younger me playing with his toy. He frowned deeply, hate and anger forming in his eyes as he stormed over and demanded his toy back.
Looking up at him, I shook my tiny head and said no. Elijah shook from anger at being told no and yelled once more, much louder this time, for his toy to be returned to him but I still refused. I didn't have any toys unlike him and I wanted to play for once with one.
Elijah's face turned red and a moment later, he lunged at me. My head banged against the wooden floor as me and my brother started to fight over the toy.
Being older and much older than me, his hits hurt a lot and he easily snatched the toy from me. He stood up, a proud grin on his face.
Frustrated that he managed to take the toy for me, little me pushed myself up from the floor and slapped his face. Elijah let out a little cry from shock but my hit wasn't powerful enough to do any real damage.
But it was enough for the Luna to snap her head at the two of us, fury in her eyes when she saw Elijah holding his face. In a rage, she snatched the pair of silver scissors on her vanity and stood up.
Staring at Elijah, I suddenly turned to Luna just as she raised her hand above her head and swung down at me. My eyes widened and I quickly moved out of the way. But not quickly enough and the scissors managed to slice the side of my neck deep.
Scowling as I laid bleeding on the floor, Luna dropped the scissors and rushed over to Elijah. Dropping to her knees and checking him over while I just laid there bleeding. Having my hand over the bleeding wound that burned for days.
Tracking a finger over the scar, the scene slowly disappeared and another one formed. It was Luna again.
I was laying on the floor in Alpha's office, all bloody and bruised after getting a beating from him. Soft sobs was escaping me as I laid there in pain. I was only eight.
Alpha looked annoyed, rubbing his head and saying how annoying my crying was. Luna was sitting on the couch off to the side sewing Maya's favorite dress after she had accidentally ripped it. She begged Luna to fix it and she was. Like the good mother she is.
Glancing over me, she herself also looking annoyed, she snapped her attention back to her hand as she stopped sewing. Putting the dress off to the side, she stared down at her finger that she had pricked. It was bleeding but instantly healed in seconds. However, Luna got angry.
Gritting her teeth, she picked up her needle and thread and got up. Walking over to me as Alpha watched, not doing anything to stop her.
When she reached me, she kicked my leg which I had a fractured foot on. "Look at me girl." She hissed. Still sobbing, I forced myself to removing my hands covering my face and look up at the shewolf. Unaware of what she was going to do next.
You're not being a very good girl. She said, tilting her head and glaring down at me with irritation. A good girl with be quiet to not annoy the people around her with her useless crying.
