Azrael growled annoyed, getting up from her seat with me in her arms and went over to the cleaned bed in which she had changed the sheets and blanket earlier.
She placed me onto the bed. "Stay here, little mate. I'll return shortly." I pouted at my Alpha but didn't cause a fuss as she turned around and left. Closing the door behind her.
Waiting for a few minutes, I slowly got off the bed. The second my feet were planted on the ground and I went to stay up, my legs buckled underneath me and I nearly fell.
Grabbing hold to the bed, I luckily didn't face plant against the floor and the only victims were my knees that got scratched up from the stone.
I bit my lip and held back tears from the pain. Azrael was definitely too rough with me, I can barely even feel my legs. By the Goddess.
But I want to go exploring, I've been locked up in this room for like a week if not more than that. I starting to go crazy with nothing to do. At least back at the old pack, I was made to clean which was something.
Sighing, I wiped away my tears and used all of my upper body strength to stand back up. Back on my feet and still holding onto the bed, I took a shaky step forward then another.
Letting go of the bed, I gritted my teeth. Doing my best to not fall as my legs shook from my weight. I stumbled over to the door, nearly falling a couple of times but fortunately, I managed to catch myself each time.
Putting a hand against the wall to keep myself up, I used my other hand to open the door. Azrael didn't lock it this time so it opened easily and loudly.
Peaking my head out, I didn't see anyone out in the hall. Carefully stepping out of the room, I continued to look both down and up the hall.
Quietly closing the door behind me, I leaned against the wall and began exploring. The halls were kind of scary, being light by only touches on the stone walls. Leaving some parts still engulfed with darkness.
There wasn't a carpet anymore or anything really, just a bunch of stone and wooden doors. On occasion I would see paints of bloody battles with wolves fighting each other and corpses.
There were no windows which made sense since we are inside a mountain, and there were a lot of people's scents around meaning that a lot of wolves reside here. But where are they?
Hearing footsteps and people voices down the corner. I paused, looking in the direction of where the noise was coming from. After a moment, the light of the torches showed shadows of people and they're heading my way.
Panic build inside on me. I can't be seen! They might tell Azrael that I sneaked out of the room! And who knows what she'll do!
Franticly looking around, I spotted a rather large door to my right. Quickly stumbling over to it, I leaned against the door but it didn't budge. Why is it so heavy!?
Groaning, I pushed harder against the door to get it open as the sound of the wolves got closer. Their voices becoming louder with every step they took. The door finally started to move.
Using all my strength, the door opened just enough for me to squeeze my body in. Just in time as the pair of werewolves turned and walked in the hallway I was just in.
Closing the door behind me, I let out a sigh of relief. That was close. Now, where am I?
Looking around the room, it was big with stone pillars on both sides. Down the middle, was a large throne with skulls around it. Some were large and others were small.
They were all different, a large one even had horns. They all smelled different too. Are they different species or something? I've never seen anything like this before.
Whoever hunted them must be very strong to battle such beasts and win.
Above the throne was a banner of a red moon. Seeing it, my brows furrowed in confusion. The banner in Azrael's room was different, why aren't they the same?
Packs make their own banners to represent who they were, the pack I use to stay with was the Golden River Pack, their symbol was a small hill with a golden river streaming down it.
No pack has two banners. Was Azrael originally from another pack but left to create her own? That might explain why she has a different banner in her room, than again, I don't know the name of this pack. Do Rogues even name their packs?
Wait! Never mind that! Back to the throne that's surrounded by skulls. It's really bugging me, but I think I've seen that chair before. Just can't get my claw onto where.
Crossing my arms over my chest, I stared at the throne. Trying to remember where I seen it before. Too lost in my thoughts to hear the door open and close behind me. "Where have I seen that chair before?"
Thinking a little harder, it hit me. I saw it in a picture back at Alpha's office, he hung it on his wall. But the thing is, "Doesn't that throne belong to the Royal Family."
"It does." I yelped, spinning around only to fall due to my weak legs. A large arm caught me through. Looking up, I realized that it was just Azrael. And she's didn't look happy.
I smiled nervously at her, my hand gripping onto her arm. Let's change her focus on something else, quickly. "Why do you have it, Az? The throne."
Azrael stared at me, not saying a word. After a while, she sighed, picking me up and holding me in her arms. "Because it is mine." Huh?
My smile fell and I looked at my mate confused. What is she talking about? "The throne belongs to the Royal Family and all but King Aspen were killed...fifteen years ago?" I paused.
Wait, didn't the late king, King Elm, have four children? Only him, his mate the Queen, and two of his children's bodies were discovered. Throats teared out.
I looked back at Azrael, a hint of fear in my eyes and I forced myself to speak. "Who exactly are you, Azrael."
"I am Azrael Blackwood, Alpha of The Wild Blood-Moon Pack, and Anassa to Werewolf kind." That word again, what does it mean?
"What does Anassa mean? Why do the wolves here call you that?" Azrael looked down at me, tilting her head to the side as she turned around and headed for the doors. "It's Greek for Queen which is my title. Alpha is my rank. Hence, people call me Anassa Alpha, Queen Alpha." My mate is royalty!?
Before I could stammer out anything, Azrael spoke first. Face looking forward as she opened the door and we left the Throne Room. "Now come, the pack is going out for a run together since we couldn't during the full moon."
Why are you so casual about this!?
