Unable to get much sleep last night due to aching pain from my punishment, I got up before the crake of drawn. The pack would normally stay asleep until about noon so there was plenty of time to clean everything up for the morning and prepare breakfast for everyone.
Being tired and only having one hand, everything took much longer than usual so doing all my chores a couple hours early then normal really helped.
Alpha won't punish me for being bad! Alpha was really mad at me last night for embarrassing Elijah, so I'll be walking around egg shells for a while until Alpha thinks I've been a good girl. That'll be nice. The punishments will lessen slightly and my rations might increase a bit!
Just have to be a good girl and stay out of trouble. No trouble means no problems and Alpha will reward me for my good behavior! I might finally get a blanket!
By the time some of the pack members started waking up and walked down towards the dining hall, a small smile was on my face as I washed the dishes.
One by one, the rest of the pack woke up and made their way to have their fill for their day before doing what they normally do each day.
Going back into the dining hall to collect the dirty dishes, a couple males snickered at me and I quickly knew why. They were laughing at the fact that I was still wearing my shirt despite that the back had been completely ripped off.
It's the only shirt Alpha allowed me to have. Alpha said that a runt like me doesn't need much and the clothes he gave me years ago should suffice. Luckily, the bandages are covering everything.
Quickly gathering all the dishes and cleaning them in the sink, I began to do the rest of my chores. The pack house was filled with people so being busy with chores is everyday.
Mostly since the warriors in training tend to bring in mud whenever they return from the training grounds. They leave, come back with muddy boots, go back outside, the floor gets clean, and they come back and make the floors dirty again. And it goes on the entire day.
It's frustrating but Alpha doesn't like it when I speak out of line to the soon-to-be warriors and he wants the pack house spotless of any dirty or mud at all times. If not, punishment.
So, getting on my hands and knees after the teens left, I began scrubbing. My back ached from me being hunched over but it'll hurt even more if Alpha sees me not doing my chores.
Elijah likes to make it hard to do my chores. He will purposely make things difficult and give me a hard time whenever he sees me. That's why it's best to avoid him most of the time.
"Did you hear?" Ignore them and focus on cleaning the floor. "She has been spotted nearby the Ever Green Pack." Shewolves sure like to talk gossip.
There was a gasp. "Really? So close?" Why are they worrying? The Ever Green Pack is miles from here. "Do you think Alpha Raymond is gonna do something?"
"Don't know. But I saw some people from a different pack last night." Yeah, one of them stepped on my hand last night. "You think they're gonna form an alliance to take her down?"
"Maybe." Who's her? "Excuse me." A new voice. "But who's her? Who are you talking about?"
Yeah, I'll like to know too. Just have to keep cleaning this floor and look busy. The pack mostly forgets that I'm here anyways.
"You don't know who we're talking about?" Why are you so surprised? "We're taking about The Mad Blood Hound. The Alpha that went Rogue."
Another gasp. "An Alpha that went rogue? I've never heard of that before!" Alphas can go rogue? Is that even possible? Alphas stay in the packs they were born in and take over once their parents step down or die.
"That's not all! After she went rogue, she stared wiping out entire packs! And she did it all on her own! Killing everyone and taking any survivors as prisoner."
"Oh, I pity them."
"You know who I pity the most? Her future mate."
"Yeah. I bet they'll reject her the second they find out they're mated to a filthy rogue. It'll be easy to spot due to the red eyes they all have."
"No, they'll reject her after realizing she's THE Azrael Blackwood, The Great Betrayer to werewolf kind." This is enough. I should go.
Slowly getting up on my feet, I picked up the bucket filled of muddy water with some difficulty with one hand and head outside to dump it.
Never heard of Azrael Blackwood before. Is she really that dangerous like the shewolves claim? Why would a person wipe out an entire pack all on her own? There must be a reason.
No. I should mind my own business if I want to stay out of trouble and make Alpha happy. A rouge Alpha that I've never heard before isn't going to get me scared.
So, why am I trembling so much?
Listening in to those shewolves was a bad idea. With my bad hand, it's already hard to do my chores and I don't need some shewolves gossip distracting me.
Dumping out the dirty water, a sigh of relief escape me. Going over to the water pump, I began refilling the bucket.
It the midst of it, something dark moved in the corner of my eye. Stopping and turning my head, all there was were trees and bushes.
The pack house was right next to the forest so it wasn't uncommon that some of the young pack members like to scare me for some laughs.
Turning back, I filled the water and went back inside to clean the rest of the mud. Feeling someone watching me as I did so but made no attempt on scaring me made me a little nervous. Weird.
