It was nighttime when my eyes fluttered opened. Rubbing them, I slowly sat up. Confused on why the first thing to catch my eyes was the wall.

Turing around, the familiar smell of a certain somebody hit me and it quickly soured my mood for the remainder of the day.

She didn't even have the gut to face me when I was awake? How much longer is she going to act this way? It's actually getting a little frustrating at this point.

Where was the gently, nice, charming Alpha that brought me here and wasted her time being with me? After she marked me, her entire demeanor changed. It saddens me.

I rather Azrael just reject me then keep me her locked up and refuse to even come see me when I'm awake.

Looking over, my eyes widened at seeing the window wide opened, much to my joy, and it seemed like the sun was just about to set.

Slowly getting up to my feet, I limped over to the table and took a seat at one of the chairs. Staring out into the world as the sunlight touched my face. This is nice.

Amber said that I was a too pale for her liking and that I needed more sun. Back at the Pack, Alpha didn't let me go outside unless I was doing a chore. Stepping out into the sunlight was a privilege for me.

Letting out a tiny sigh, small smile on my lips, my body leaned forward. My head resting on my hand.

The sound of the door opened but I paid no mind to it while continuing to look out the window, bathing in the sunlight before it disappeared. That was, until the smell of freshly-baked bread mixed with bacon made me turn around.

A tiny gasp escaped me as my eyes went wide. Loud, heavy footsteps echoed throughout the room after she closed the door behind her.

Nervousness and anxiety quickly filled me to the brim as the female Alpha got closer and closer. I refused to turn my head to look at her.

Just as she stood right beside me, a tray of food was placed before me. I didn't even smell it, too focus on my mate suddenly visiting me out of nowhere.

Turning my head just slightly, I saw today's meal. It was mostly meat with a few vegetables and a cup of water. I believe I caught a glance of a farm when Leo tossed me over his shoulder and dragged me outside to calm Azrael.

But I could have been seeing wrong since werewolves don't farm. At least, not at the Golden River Pack. Azrael's pack is very weird and does things differently.

Staring at the food for a moment, my stomach growled for it and my mouth began to water. This is the first time that I was given meat that weren't scraps or leftovers. However, that didn't make me make the first move.

Azrael sighed, walking over and took a seat in the chair across from me. Leaning against the wall as I felt her stared at me. Eyes darting at every little thing of movement I made.

I could see that she looked rather worn down, sadness filled her eyes with bags under them, and was defeated. She looked nothing like the big, scary Alpha that chased me into the woods with the blood of one of her own on her cheek. I don't like it.

My body shifted uncomfortable, wanting to reach over and touch her. To comfort her from her dreadful misery that's causing her so much pain.

Taking a deep breath, I looked away while Azrael continued to stare at me. This lasted with neither of us moving until the food went cold.

Azrael sighed, looking down at the plate of untouched food. "Can you please eat, my little flower? I can hear your stomach growl miles away." A small blush formed on my cheeks but I still didn't budge.

Watching me a moment longer, she gave up. Much to my surprise because it looked like Azrael wasn't one to give up to easily.

She got up from her chair and went to stand right next to me. In the corner of my eye, I saw her lift a hand and reach out towards me. But paused midway. Glancing up at her, Azrael looked rather hesitant and deep in thought for a minute.

Shutting her eyes and putting her head slightly down, the hand about to touch me went back to her side all limp. Seeing her heart broken face, it took everything in me not to lean over and comfort her.

Feeling tears forming, my eyes quickly went back to looking outside. Watching as the sun fully hid behind the giant mountain in the distance.

"I..." She stopped, thinking about what she was about to say as I didn't look away from the mountain. "I...I can't let you leave, no matter how much you want to return to your pack. Those people are bad for you and I cannot bare to see you hurt anymore because of them."

I closed my eyes, a tear escaping and running down my cheek. Alpha is gonna be so mad. When he finds me, I'm gonna get the worst punishment imaginable.

Azrael didn't wait for a response before she went over to the door and opened it. But didn't walk out immediately. With her back facing me, she spoke.

"Starting tomorrow, I'll let you go outside only if you stay by my side the entire time. Some of the pack still don't know who you are and I don't want to rip any of their heads off." With that, she left. Closing and locking the door behind her.

Sighing, I ran my fingers through my hair. Feeling all the knots that need to be dealt with at a later date.

Looking over at the plate of cold food, I stared at it for a moment before reaching over and gently tear off a small piece of meat.

Bringing the meat up to my lips, I didn't hesitate to start eating it. Nibbling on it, a small hummed escaped me.

The food, it doesn't taste like Amber's cooking. Did Azrael make this?

A chucked escaped me. An Alpha cooking for a Runt, never thought I would see that happening. That Shewolf sure is a weirdo.

But, she's my weirdo and I wouldn't trade her for anything.
