He grinned at me, showing his blood stained canines as an unpleasant odour came from him which made my nose wrinkled at the smell.
Taking a step forward towards me, I moved closer to the wall. To get away from him. The Rogue found this amusing, a low chuckle left him that gave me chills. And in a split second, he lunged at me.
My eyes widened, and before I could do anything, he was gripping me by my hair. My eyes closed with tears in them while the unpleasant adour overwhelmed my scents. "Lucky me. A runt. I'm sure Alpha will allow me to have some fun with you when this is all over." His voice was croaky, like he had a sore throat.
A low whine escaped me when the Rogue stared to drag me out of my room, still clutching my hair. Everything hurts too much to stop him as my legs dragged against the floor, my hands gripping his wrist.
He pulled me down the stairs, not letting me walk on my own at any point. Through teary eyes, I saw more Rogues in the pack house.
They ignored us as they broke everything in their sight. Alpha isn't gonna like this. The pack house is to always be kept clean.
Getting hauled outside, the Rogue finally let me go after a while of more dragging against the gravel and walked away. My body collapsed on the ground.
Letting out a shaky breath, I lifted myself up. Pain rushing through me like a stampede. Gripping my stomach as I managed to get myself up, I looked to the left of me and realized that most of the pack was there.
They were on their knees, some were injured and others were crying. Snot coming out of their noses. Mothers were clenching their children with mates protecting one another while Rogues surrounded us on guard, watching with their blood color eyes filled with fire.
In the distance, there was smoke coming from multiple places, filling the dark sky. The houses of the pack members that didn't live in the pack house are in that direction.
A heavy, reeking smell of blood was coming from there. I gulped. What do they want from us?
Hearing heavy footsteps against the gravel, I turned back to see a tall, muscular woman with dark tan skin, wearing animal fur clothes like the other rogues, walking to the front of the crowd where two other Rogues were who seemed to be in charge.
She's very menacing. The atmosphere became colder and everything got quiet. Danger and high dominates was radiating off her that sent off alarms bells in me. That woman is extremely dangerous. But looking at her more, a feeling of calmness and warmth settled in me.
There was a small pull I felt but ignored it.
"Is that all of them?" Her voice was rough and loud, commanding authority. Gosh, hearing it is making me feel all weird. What's wrong with me? "Other than the Alpha, his family, and the dead warriors, yes, this is everyone from Sun Forest Pack."
"The Alpha and his family isn't here?" She growled. "Then what are you two doing standing here? Go find them!" The two Rogues nodded their heads. "Yes Alpha!" They ran off, a few others rouges following after them.
Snarling a little, the woman turned to look at us, her eyes narrowed and a frown on her gorgeous lips where there was a small scar on the edge. She scanned the crowd and it didn't take long for our eyes to connect.
She froze, staring at me with shock and her mouth agape. I think my expression was the same when the mating bond between us snapped into place. I felt the pack's eyes on us but paid them no mind.
The wind carrying the smell of smoke and metallic blew through her short, midnight hair that reached the end of her neck. Then, I smelled it. Freshly-baked bread mixed with bacon.
Taking in a deep breath, she threw her head back. A loud moan escaping her while a smile formed. Looking back at me, her smile fell and a loud growl echoed through the air.
She shook in anger, her red eyes glowing as she gridded her teeth. There was a look in her eyes that meant her wolf was on the verge of slipping out. "Who hurt her?" She snarled.
Everyone, me including, flinched, lowering our heads and baring our necks. Submitting to the seething Rogue.
The sound of my mate's footsteps approaching me, made me antsy, her scent getting stronger. She stopped right in front of me. "Look at me, little mate."Her voice was soft when she spoke to me. Almost a whisper.
Hesitantly, I slowly looked up. Her fist clenched tightly at the sight of my face. It can't be that bad. Right? "Who touched you?"
Turning my head to the side at the male Rogue that dragged me here, my mate growled. Walking over to him, arms at her side, she stopped right in front of him, staring down at him as he bared his neck even more. "You hurt my mate?"
He let out a small whimper. "I-I didn't know, Alpha."
My eyes widened as she grabbed the Rogue by his jaw and ripped his head clean off. His decapitated body fell to the floor with a thud. Fingers twisting while blood spilled out where his head was.
She snarl, throwing the head away in disgust.
Walking back to me, my mate's eyes softened upon seeing my shaking form and wide eyes as I stared at her. Gulping at the sight of splattered blood on her cheek.
Stopping a little distance away, she extended her hand towards me. I looked at it, then back at her. Still shaking, I shook my head slightly. I saw a flash of hurt from her and it made my heart ache.
Taking a step closer to me, I got up and booked it into the woods as fast as I could with a broken leg. Something inside me broke when I did that, regret filling me. The urge to go back to my mate and be in her embrace was overwhelming but I continued to run.
There was a loud, hurt growl before the sounds of quick, pounding feet chased after me.
