Chapter 9: Call
Mia's POV
*One Month Later*
"Ugh, can you get my phone from my room? Damn pregnancy brain, I'm forgetting things all the time," I sighed, looking over at Claire as we sat on the couch.
"Of course," she smiled, standing up and walked into my bedroom. "MIA ANN PALMER!" my best friend screeched as she came storming back into the living room. I looked and saw she was holding a napkin in her hand. The napkin with Andy's phone number. Shit.
"Claire," I sighed.
"HOW LONG HAVE YOU HAD THIS?" she asked, shaking the napkin in the air.
"Since the bar, but I just recently found it!" I defended myself.
"HOW LONG?"
"A month," I sighed.
"MIA!"
"I knowwwww!" I groaned, throwing my head back.
"I'M DOING ALL OF THIS WORK TO FIND THIS MAN AND YOU HAVE HIS PHONE NUMBER? PLEASE TELL ME YOU'VE CALLED HIM!" she shouted and I just bit my lip, looking at her. "OH MY GOD, MIA! WHY THE HELL NOT?"
"I-I'm scared," I admitted, tears in my eyes. I rambled to her all of my worries associated with the thought of calling Andy.
"Or, you could call him and live happily ever after!" she suggested as she sat back down next to me and I rolled my eyes. "Call him, Mia," she insisted as thrust the napkin and my phone towards me. I groaned and grabbed both of the items. I pulled up the keypad on my phone and clutched the napkin in my other hand. I hovered over the 2, my hands shaking. "Mia," Claire said softly. I bit down so hard on my lip I tasted blood.
"I can't do it," I whispered as tears dropped onto my phone screen.
"Yes you can," she encouraged. "Mia, it has to be done. He has a right to know."
"You're right," I sighed, typing in the rest of the number. I pressed the green call button. I nervously put the phone to my ear, my stomach twisting with each rings. After six rings, I heard a familiar voice.
"Hello, you've reached Andy Biersack. I'm sorry I missed your call. Please leave your name and number and I'll try to get back to you. Thanks!" I heard the long beep and I opened my mouth to speak. Claire shoved me and I blinked a few times.
"H-Hi Andy, it's Mia. Uhm, call me back," I said quietly and then hung up. I let out a big breath and leaned back on the couch.
"Now you just wait," Claire said with a soft smile.
