Chapter 61
Mia's POV
*One Month Later*
"What if they're not happy. What if they think I'm not good enough?" I asked Andy, twirling my engagement ring around my finger. We were sitting on the airplane, waiting for our plane to pull up to the gate. We had just landed in Ohio to visit Andy's parents for Christmas. Andy didn't tell his parents when he was planning on proposing, so they still had no idea we were engaged. He wanted it to be a surprise.
"They're so happy. I already told them I was going to do it and showed them the ring. They love you and are going to be so excited for you to join our family," Andy said with a big smile, wrapping his arm around me, pulling me close and kissing the top of my head.
"Okay," I said softly. Finally, the plane pulled up to the gate and we were able to get up. I worked on getting Kendyll and all of her stuff gathered up while Andy grabbed our stuff. We slid into the aisle and followed the line off the plane. We walked through the airport and to the baggage claim, where his parents were waiting.
"Andy! Mia!" his mom exclaimed once we got close to them. We greeted them and hugged them, Kendyll eventually getting passed to his mom. "It's always so nice to see you guys," she said happily, playing with Kendyll's hand.
"Dad and I will go get the bags," Andy said as him and his dad made their way to the baggage claim. I held my left hand behind my back, hoping to hide it from his mom. Amy and I made small talk until the guys returned with our bags. The four of us walked out to the car and I got Kendyll strapped in while Andy and his dad loaded the suitcases into the back. We got in the car and drove to their house, making small talk the entire way.
"I'll take the bags upstairs," Andy said.
"I'll get Kendyll set up in the living room," I said, slinging Kendyll's bag of toys over my shoulder. I made it to the living room and laid out her blanket that she sits on to play with toys. I set her down and then laid out a few of her toys before sitting on the couch.
"She's getting so big!" Andy's mom commented.
"I know, she's growing so fast," I said with a sigh.
"Are you guys planning to have any more?" she questioned.
"Mom," Andy groaned as he walked into the room. I have never been more thankful to see Andy.
"It's just a question!" she said defensively, holding up her hands.
"We've got to plan something else first," he said and she raised her eyebrow, looking at him with a confused look. "We're engaged," he said happily as I flashed my ring.
"Oh my god! You finally did it! You've only been talking about it for months!" his mom exclaimed, jumping up and rushing over to us. She grabbed my hand and tilted my hang back and forth so the diamond caught the light.
"Yup, I proposed when we were in Tennessee for Thanksgiving. Kendyll helped," he said, showing the picture of Kendyll in her shirt.
"Oh my god, I'm so happy for you son!" his mom squealed as she clapped her hands.
"Congratulations to our both. We're so excited for you to join our family, Mia," his dad said.
"Told you," Andy said, looking at me with a smirk.
