Steve's affair with Tony's husband Part 6

The fate of the world is going to change, now that an extraterrestrial force is looking for the stones. The group discovered this when they attacked Vision, who was visiting Wanda. Because of it, they need to strategize for a plan to stop them. And so, they seek help of the remaining Avengers. Y/N was a bit nervous to see Tony again, after 2 years of not seeing him. However, all his anxiety seems to be in waste after discovering he's somewhere else. Rhodey is quick to discard his loyalty to Secretary Ross. After discussing where to go next, the group decides to go to Wakanda, knowing their technology can help them.

During their travel, Y/N wonders what kind of force they're fighting against and how much power they have. There is a small thought in his head that occupies his anxiety. He wonders how Tony was doing the past two years. Thus, he gets to Rhodey to ask the important questioning.

"How's Tony doing...?"

"Not well to be honest." Rhodey admits. Y/N looks saddened by the respond. "His drinking problems got worse..." Y/N suspected that would happen, knowing his ex-husband's habits very well. He looks back outside, quiet. Though Rhodey is wondering what's going on with Y/N. "How about you?"

Y/N looks back. "Good... all things considered." He answered awkwardly.

Rhodey remains quiet, causing the other man to wonder what he's thinking. Whether he's mad of him by hurting his best friend, or if he has a neutral take. His eyes look down, back at Y/N's hands. "You got a new ring?"

Y/N is surprised Rhodey would notice that. He looks down at it before looking back to reply. "Yes... I'm with Steve..."

"Congratulations." Rhodey merely responds, though it's hard to say he's genuinely happy for him.

And so, the conversation ended, with Y/N hoping he didn't hurt Tony that much.

They get to Wakanda, where they discuss their plan. Knowing it's inevitable they get invading; they make sure to put on the best defense they can. All the while, back in lab, Shuri will remove the mind stone from Vision's head. As everyone prepares for the battle, Y/N is outside on a balcony, calming his nerves. He's already wearing his suit, just in case. He doesn't know how long he's standing there, as suddenly Steve stands beside him.

"How are you holding up?"

"All things considered, alright." Y/N admits. "I'm not having a panic attack, so that's nice."

Steve leans with one arm against the fence and faces his husband. "Nervous?"

"More like dreading." Y/N corrects him. "I always feel scared one of us dies out there... and now, I barely don't know anything about those who we are going to face."

"If you're not up to it-"

"I am. I must have to." Y/N interrupts Steve. "The fate of the world is at stake. Even if I'm scared, I can't run away. Not now."

Steve is surprised by Y/N's sudden surge of confidence, but he's proud of him. "I'm happy to hear that. Just know you won't be alone out there. You got the help of an entire country, and more importantly, us."

"I know." Y/N leans in to kiss Steve. "We will fight together, always."

It's their final stand against Thanos. Everyone is stalling the mad titan in order to have Wanda destroy the mind stone. Using the best of their strength, everyone tries to stop him. King T'Challa, Bucky, Bruce, Sam, Rhodey, Natasha, Y/N and of course Steve. However, all seem nothing, until Wanda destroyed the mind stone. It appears the day is saved, until Thanos turns back time and restore the mind stone, and thus Vision. That's when the Scarlet Witch tries to stop him, only to fail. Afterwards, Thanos grabs Vision and removes the mind stone from his head, killing him in the process. Again, there seems to be hope, when Thor tries to stop him. However, he didn't killed him, and the mad titan snapped his fingers, changing the world forever.
