cw: mental illness, such as depression

------------

It's been a few days or so since Jake has seen his best friend. Johnnie hasn't left his room. He's been just sleeping the days away. Staying up all night, and sleeping all day.

At the moment, Johnnie was fast asleep. Blanket draped over his shirtless self as he is resting in his bed. His depression has been acting up and that's all he has been doing.

Trying to sleep it away. But of course, it doesn't work. His depression is extremely chronic, and he is trying to cope as best as he could.

Jake slowly opened the door to Johnnie's room, peeking in to check on him. He was surprised to see him asleep, considering he hadn't left his room for a while.

Jake sighed, walking into the room and quietly shutting the door behind him. He made his way over to the bed, sitting on the edge and gently rubbing Johnnie's back.

A soft grunt left Johnnie's lips as he feels Jake's hand on his tatted back. It still had a bunch of work to do, but the tattoo looked pretty sick.

Jake chuckled softly, continuing to rub Johnnie's back. He looked down at him, noticing the tattoo on his back. "You've been working on this tattoo a lot, huh?" He asked, his hand tracing over the designs.

"Mhm.." Johnnie hummed in his sleepy state. Half-awake but kept his eyes closed.

Jake smiled, continuing to rub Johnnie's back as he spoke. "It looks really good, you've done a lot of work on it." He said, his voice gentle and quiet.

Johnnie opened his eyes. He shifts as he rolled over. He faced Jake. Noticing the red-dyed-headed male.

Jake looked down at Johnnie as he rolled over, their eyes meeting. He smiled warmly at him, his hand moving to brush a black strand of hair out of his face. "Hey sleepyhead," he said softly.

Johnnie's black emo hair is a mess. "Hi." He muttered as he sits up in his bed. "What do you want?" He croaked out tiredly.

Jake chuckled at Johnnie's messy hair and tired voice. "I just wanted to check on you. You've been holed up in here for days. I haven't seen you in a while." He said, his hand still resting on Johnnie's back.

Johnnie brushed Jake's hand off of himself. He rubs his face. "I'm fine." He dismissed. "Can i go back to bed?" He asked, looking at Jake.

Jake's smile faltered slightly at Johnnie's dismissive response. He frowned, his hand dropping to his side. "You're not fine. You've been in bed for days. You're not fine, and you need to talk about it." He said, his voice firm but still gentle.

Johnnie groaned, grabbing his pillow and putting it over his head as he laid on his stomach now. "Go. Away."

Jake sighed, shaking his head. "No, I'm not going away. You can't just shut me out like this, Johnnie. I'm worried about you." He said, grabbing the pillow and gently tugging it off of Johnnie's head.

Johnnie huffed. He grabbed his pillow back, hugging it as he laid on his side. "I'm fine, dude. I'm just tired."

Jake rolled his eyes, not believing Johnnie's excuse. "Bullshit. You're not just tired. You've been depressed for weeks, and you've been avoiding everyone. Don't try to lie to me, I know you better than that." He said, his voice stern but filled with concern.

"Go fuck yourself, strawberry shortcake." Johnnie grumbled sassily as he swayed his hand.

Jake couldn't help but laugh at Johnnie's insult. "Wow, you're a real comedian, aren't you?" He said, his worry is melting away for a sec and being replaced with amusement.
