TW: mental illness, heartbreak, smoking and drinking

-------------------------------------------

Jake was silently admiring Johnnie from across the room. A little smile across his face as he kept his brown gaze apon him.

Jake's gaze was fixated on Johnnie, admiring his every move. He couldn't help but notice how effortlessly charming he was, even when just standing there.

But Johnnie's eyes was on someone else, Carrington walked down the stairs. He went over and wrapped his arms around Johnnie's waist. He rested his chin on Johnnie's shoulder.

Jake looked away. His heart pained at the sight. He couldn't believe this. Carrington swooped Johnnie before Jake could've.

Johnnie chuckled, leaning into Carrington's embrace. He noticed the look on Jake's face and couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt. But Carrington seemed oblivious, too focused on Johnnie to notice the hurt in Jake's eyes.

Getting up, Jake walked himself up the stairs. He felt heartbroken. He was planning on confessing to Johnnie, but he just obviously found out that he was taken. Taken by Carrington. and by the looks of it, for awhile.

Carrington watched as Jake walked up the stairs, a hint of confusion on his face. He didn't understand why Jake seemed so upset. He was too wrapped up in his own world to notice the hurt in Jake's eyes.

Johnnie, on the other hand, felt a pang of guilt as he saw Jake leave. He knew how Jake felt about him, but he couldn't help the way he felt about Carrington.

"What's his problem baby?" Carrington asked, pushing Johnnie's emo bangs back.

Johnnie shrugged, still feeling a little guilty. "I don't know. He's been acting strange lately."

Carrington chuckled, running his fingers through Johnnie's hair. "Maybe he's just jealous.

"Maybe.." Johnnie mumbled.

Jake meanwhile is crying in his room. Lighting himself a cigarette as he placed it to his lips.

Jake sat alone in his room, the weight of his emotions crashing down on him. He took a long drag from his cigarette, trying to calm his nerves.

He couldn't believe that Johnnie was with Carrington. It hurt more than he could have imagined.

Jake slides down in his bed, smoking the cigarette with tears rolling down his face. He felt his world crumbling. His heart shattering.

The room was filled with the acrid smell of smoke as Jake continued to cry. He felt like he was drowning in his own sorrow, unable to escape the pain of his unrequited love.

Meanwhile, downstairs, Carrington and Johnnie were blissfully unaware of Jake's suffering. They were laughing and joking, completely oblivious to the emotional wreck that was unfolding just a floor above them.

Jake shakily exhales as he brought the cigarette back his lips, his hand shaking as he takes another drag. "Fuck..."

Jake's voice was shaky as he muttered a curse under his breath. He felt like he was suffocating, both from the smoke and from his own emotions. He tried to take deep breaths, but they came out shallow and ragged.

The pain in his chest was unbearable. He loved Johnnie so much, but he knew that he could never have him. Not with Carrington in the picture.

"Why.." Jake whispered as he blows another cloud of smoke. "I thought you were in love with me," as his eyes are fixated on his ceiling.
