Jake and Johnnie are cuddling in bed one night as they usually do, when suddenly Jake starts to whine in his sleep.

Johnnie was half asleep and was about to drift off to dreamland, but when he heard Jake whine he opened his eyes and looked over at him.

He gently shook Jake's shoulder.
"Jake..? You alright?"

Jake was wearing a tanktop, so Johnnie can feel his skin increasingly in temperature.
Johnnie felt Jake's skin getting warmer and he started to worry a little.

He sat up and gently ran his fingers through Jake's hair, trying to wake him up."Jake, you're burning up.."

Jake was having a feverdream, that's why he was whining in his sleep. His forehead is slicked with sweat.

Johnnie's heart sank as he realized Jake was having a fever dream. He carefully removed the blanket from Jake and touched his forehead, feeling the heat radiating from it.

He got out of bed and went to the bathroom to get a damp washcloth and a thermometer.

Jake opened his eyes partly, groaning as he felt a wave of nausea hit him as soon as he opened his eyes.

Johnnie came back into the room and saw Jake waking up. He sat down next to him and gently placed the damp washcloth on his forehead."Hey, hey.. You okay? You're burning up and you were having a fever dream."

Jake started to cough. Covering his mouth with his tatted arm as he coughed into it.

Johnnie winced as he heard Jake coughing. He rubbed his back gently, trying to soothe him."Just breathe, okay? I'm gonna check your temperature."He held the thermometer up to Jake's mouth.

Jake grimaced at that. "I hate that thing, it feels weird in my mouth.. i don't like it."
Johnnie chuckled softly.

"I know, I know. But it's the only way to check your temperature. Just open up for me, please?" Johnnie commanded softly.

Jake huffs before he gave in. He opened his mouth, immediately closing his eyes tight and clamping his mouth once it was in.

Johnnie gently slid the thermometer into Jake's mouth, holding it there for a few seconds."Good job. Now just hold it there for a bit, okay?"He checked the time on his phone, waiting for the thermometer to beep.

Jake opened his eyes, looking around the room before the thermometer beeped. The sound entered the room.

Johnnie pulled the thermometer out of Jake's mouth and checked the reading.
"101.6.. You're definitely running a fever."

Jake groaned at that. He shivered, "No im cold.." As he tried reaching for his weighted blanket.

Johnnie sighed and grabbed the blanket, covering Jake with it."There. Now you can be cozy and miserable at the same time."

Jake huffs, "Jeez, thanks babe. How sweet." He said sarcastically as he groaned again.

Johnnie rolled his eyes, but he couldn't help but smile a little at Jake's sarcasm.
"You're welcome, you ungrateful lump. I'm just trying to take care of you here."

"Kiss my ass," Jake rubbed his forehead, wincing before he got another wave of nausea.

Johnnie chuckled and leaned in to kiss Jake's forehead, feeling the heat radiating from it."There, I kissed your ass. Now will you stop complaining and let me take care of you?"
