Johnnie was anxious and has been expressing anxiety. At the moment, Johnnie is sitting on the couch. Fidgeting with his rings.
Jake noticed Johnnie's anxious behavior as he entered the room, concern etched on his face. He approached the couch and sat down beside him, gently taking his hand in his own.
"Hey, what's going on? You've been fidgeting a lot," he said softly, giving his hand a reassuring squeeze.
Johnnie pulled his hand back. "I-im fine," He strained out. His voice shakes as he spoke. Before be abruptly got up and went upstairs.
Jake watched as Johnnie pulled his hand away and quickly left the room. He knew that something was definitely wrong, but he didn't want to push him if he wasn't ready to talk.
He sighed and got up from the couch, following Johnnie upstairs to his bedroom. He knocked gently on the door before opening it."Johnnie... can we talk?"
Johnnie was now on the floor in his bedroom. Clutching his head and having his face buried into his knees. His breathing is rapid and shaky.
Jake's heart sank as he saw Johnnie on the floor, clearly distressed. He quickly knelt down beside him, placing a hand on his back.
"Johnnie, hey... it's okay. Take deep breaths with me, alright?" Jake said gently, trying to keep his own anxiety at bay.
Johnnie lifted his head, gripping his chest as he tried to take in a deep breath but only to fail as his breathing got more rapid.
Jake could see that Johnnie was struggling to breathe, and his own worry grew. He shifted closer to him, wrapping his arms around him in a tight hug.
"Breathe with me, Johnnie. In... and out... slowly," he said, taking deep breaths himself to demonstrate.
Johnnie pulled away from the hug, "Don't- don't touch," He strained out as he hyperventilates.
Jake quickly retracted his arms, feeling a pang of hurt at Johnnie's rejection. He knew that Johnnie needed space, but it was hard to see him struggling and not be able to help.
"Okay, okay... I won't touch you," he said softly, sitting back a bit to give him some space. "But I'm still here for you, alright? Just try to breathe, in and out..."
Johnnie's breathing became even more erratic, his chest heaving up and down as he gasped for air. His heart was pounding in his chest, and he could feel a cold sweat breaking out on his forehead. His hands were trembling, and he clutched at his chest as if trying to hold himself together.
Tears streamed down his face as he struggled to control his breathing, his mind racing with negative thoughts and fears. He felt like he was drowning, like he was going to suffocate at any moment.
Jake watched helplessly as Johnnie's anxiety attack continued to escalate. He wanted to help, but he knew that pushing him would only make things worse.
"Johnnie, I know it's hard, but you need to try and focus on your breathing. Inhale for four seconds, hold for four seconds, and exhale for four seconds. Can you do that for me?"
Jake tried to keep his voice calm and soothing, even though he was feeling anxious himself.
Johnnie tries as he grips his chest, "It hurts.." He whispered. As tears of black makeup streaked down his face.
Jake's heart broke as he heard Johnnie's words. He hated seeing him in so much pain and knowing that there wasn't much he could do to help.
"I know, I know it hurts..." he said softly, his voice filled with empathy. "But you're doing great, just keep breathing. Inhale, hold, exhale..."
He resisted the urge to reach out and touch him again, not wanting to make things worse. Instead, he just sat there, offering words of encouragement and support.
Johnnie laid his head onto Jake's shoulder as he closes his eyes. Now he begins to take deep breaths. His body visibly shaking.
Jake felt a mixture of relief and sadness as Johnnie laid his head on his shoulder. He gently placed a hand on his back, rubbing it in small, soothing circles.
"That's it, you're doing so well," he said softly, his voice filled with love and concern. "Just keep breathing, you're going to be okay..."
He continued to sit there with Johnnie, providing comfort and support as he slowly started to calm down.
Johnnie's breathing began to slow down as he focused on Jake's touch and his soothing words. He still felt shaky and anxious, but the panic attack seemed to be subsiding.
His body continued to tremble as he clung to Jake, seeking comfort and reassurance. Tears continued to stream down his face, but they were no longer accompanied by the rapid, gasping breaths from before.
Jake continued to hold him, gently rocking him back and forth as he whispered words of comfort and love. "You're safe, I've got you... just keep breathing..."
As Johnnie's breathing steadied, Jake gently wiped the tears from his face with his thumb. He could feel the tension slowly leaving his body, and he knew that the worst of the panic attack was over.
"You're doing amazing, love," he said softly, pressing a gentle kiss to the top of his head. "I'm so proud of you for getting through this..."
Jake continued to hold him close, his arms wrapped tightly around him as if to shield him from the world.
He knew that Johnnie was still feeling vulnerable and fragile, and he wanted to do everything he could to make him feel safe and loved.
Johnnie nuzzled his face into the crook of Jake's neck, taking comfort in his warmth and scent. He was still shaking slightly, but his breathing was now slow and steady.
"I'm sorry..." he whispered, his voice hoarse from crying. "I didn't mean to freak out like that..."
Jake gently stroked his hair, shaking his head. "You don't have to apologize, love. It's okay. I'm just glad you're feeling better now."
He continued to hold him tightly, rocking him back and forth in a soothing motion. "You don't have to go through this alone, you know. I'm here for you, always."
Johnnie clung to Jake, feeling a wave of gratitude wash over him. He knew that he was lucky to have someone who was so patient and understanding with him, even during his worst moments.
"I love you," he whispered, his voice barely above a whisper. "I don't know what I'd do without you..."
Jake held him tighter, feeling a surge of protectiveness and love for Johnnie. "You don't have to worry about that, love," he said softly. "I'm here to stay, through thick and thin. We're in this together, always."
He gently tilted Johnnie's chin up so that they were looking at each other. "And I promise you, I'll do everything in my power to make sure you never have to go through something like this alone again."
Johnnie sniffled softly as he rests his head on Jake's chest, falling asleep from the intense anxiety.
Jake held him close as he fell asleep, his heart aching at the sight of Johnnie so vulnerable and exhausted. He gently ran his fingers through his hair, continuing to hold him and provide comfort even in his sleep.
He knew that Johnnie needed rest after such a difficult experience, and he was happy to be there for him as he slept. He kept watch over him, making sure that he was safe and comfortable, and whispering soft words of love and reassurance.
As the night went on, Jake continued to hold Johnnie in his arms, watching over him as he slept. He was filled with a mixture of love and concern for his partner, grateful that he had been able to help him through his anxiety attack.
When morning came, Jake gently woke Johnnie up, making sure that he was feeling okay. He offered him a cup of tea and some breakfast, and they spent the morning cuddled up together on the couch, talking about how Johnnie was feeling and what they could do to help prevent future attacks.
Jake promised to be there for Johnnie no matter what,
and he knew that they would get through this together, one step at a time.
