After a few days, it was deemed that a majority of the Slayers were ready to head to Muichiro. (Name) and Genya both were practically dancing with excitement as we walked into the Mist Estate. The youngest Hashira eagerly welcomed us in, not even fazed by the small army we brought.

“(Name)-Chan, are you ready?” Tokito asks after we all arrive in the backyard
“Yes.” The Marechi woman replies, easily sliding out her sword.

Many of the Slayers that attended gasped. It was quite uncommon for a demon slayer to use an Odachi - especially since she is an Omega and the sword was comically bigger than her. (Name) smiles as she turns to face the crowd.

“This station will be taught by the Mist Hashira, Tokito; the youngest Hashira in history. Today, he and I will battle to showcase just how fast the Kiziuki are. Tokito will be showing you all how fast you need to be in order to survive. Any questions before we start?” The Moon Hashira explains, looking at the slayers.

“(Last Name)-San, how strong are you exactly? Like if you were on their side, what rank would you be?” One Slayer asks and (Name) smiles sweetly.
“As many have heard, I was trained in Moon Breathing by Upper Moon One. I also was strong enough to defeat a total of five Upper Moons alone. You all can clearly see the kanji in my eyes claiming me as the Upper Moon Child. I currently am on par with Upper Moon Two, perhaps even my own Sensei.”

A hush fell over the crowd of Slayers. Not many besides the Hashira and our Tsugukos knew of how she became a demon slayer. I'm certain nobody will even ask how she became a Hashira.

“If you are such a strong demon, why would you help us? I heard you didn't even have to go to Final Selection before becoming a Hashira.” Yet another Slayer asks, causing an uproar in the group.

“Final Selection would've been a redundant test. I don't know anyone else who could have defeated six Hashira in six days. Enough talk. Whoever has an issue with the Moon Hashira - I will remind you that she is going to be fighting the Demon King alone - can fuck off.” Muichiro growls out, drawing his katana.

-

Seeing the two Hashira spar was insane. It was quite clear that both of them had grown significantly stronger in the nearly three years since their last serious match. They weren't using breath attacks, the Omega had even decided not to use her own sword.

I could immediately tell that (Name) was holding back. It was some sort of unspoken choice that she wouldn't truly fight humans. She just couldn't ever bring herself to. But even when holding back, she was keeping Tokito on his toes.

Each swing of the Mist Hashira's blade was dodged. I doubt that the (Hair Color) haired woman was even actively trying to dodge him. She moved so fast that it seemed like she was disappearing into thin air.

“The stronger the demon, the faster they move. If you cannot move just as fast as they do, you will die.” Muichiro states, ducking under the roundhouse kick (Name) had thrown.

Their battle rages on. Hours had gone by and neither Hashira seemed fazed. But it was time to break for lunch.

By the end of the three days, almost all of the Slayers were able to land a single hit on (Name). The lower ranks had been ushered away and it was just our group of nine left. The Moon was high in the sky and I was currently in the kitchen of the Mist Estate prepping dinner.

“Tomioka, can I help?” Muichiro asks while shyly looking at the floor.
“Of course. I'm making a few different things. Could you chop the vegetables while I prepare the marinade for the meat?”

He nods, pushing his sleeves up before standing next to me. While he begins to chop up the daikon, I begin mixing soy sauce and several other ingredients for the marinade in a bowl. We worked in comfortable silence that was only accented by the sound of the knife on the cutting board and the boiling water on the stove.

I throw the fresh udon noodles into the pot of water and set up the wok on a burner next to it. Tokito slides the vegetables in it after I instructed him to.

It was a familiar routine for me. Making stir fry for the teens, spicy udon for Sanemi, chicken tempura for (Name) and simmered salmon daikon for myself.

“What's your favorite food, Mui?” I ask him, flicking the wok back and forth.
“Okonomiyaki¹.” He says softly, continuing to chop vegetables.
“I'll remember that for next time. Can you check the rice?”

I pull the udon and throw it into the mixture of kazuri² sauce and wasabi. Sanemi for some reason would rather eat a meal without tasting it - while only feeling a burning sensation. It was a topic that I always teased him on.

Once I place the udon in the sauce, I turn back to the stove to stir the dashi³ broth. The Mist Hashira was portioning out the rice so I began ladling the broth into bowls. He takes the platter full of ten plates of rice and walks towards the dining room. I follow him, easily balancing the tray of porcelain dishware in my hands.

After multiple trips, we managed to get all the basic food items on the table. Tanjiro was practically sitting on Inosuke to keep him from devouring the food before everything was ready. I return to the kitchen, serving up the stir fry and sending it back to the dining room with Tokito. After that is done, I begin on the individual meals for the adults.

I skewer the sliced pieces of chicken and place them in the tempura batter. Then I throw a few eggs into the remaining dashi, soft boiling them for Sanemi. As I wait for the eggs, I place the chicken in hot oil. My salmon goes into the same pot as the simmering daikon and I quickly chop up the small vegetables needed for the Wind Hashira's meal. I also carve off a few thin pieces of pork to throw in the bowl.

The eggs go into cold water and the chicken goes into a plate. After peeling the eggs, I pour some dashi into the bowl of udon. Placing the sliced eggs, pork and vegetables inside, I finish it off with a drizzle of sesame oil. With Sanemi's dish finished, I move on to (Name)’s.

The crispy chicken is always served with a sweet and sour sauce that I originally made by mistake. I smile at the memory, startling Tokito as he walks into his kitchen.

“Smiling, Tomioka?”
“I was just remembering the first time I made this sauce for her.” I explain, looking into his interested cyan eyes.
“Did something happen?” He asks.
“I was trying to make a sweet sauce for her to dip the tempura in, while I was also working on making food for Sanemi. I accidentally put yuzu juice and soy sauce instead of the orange juice and molasses that I intended. I didn't realize until after I gave her the sauce that it was indeed sour instead of just sweet.”
“Will you teach me how to cook? Genya-Kun seems to enjoy the food you make.” His pale cheeks tiny with pink as he thinks of the gunslinger.
“Of course, (Name) would have my head if I didn't help you.” I didn't expect him to hug me, but I returned the affection.

After he pulls away, I finish up the sauce and plate up my own food before we head out to the dining room.

Sanemi smirks as I slide his bowl in front of him. (Name) gives me a kiss on the cheek as I place her food in front of her. Finally, I settle down on her right side and everyone calls out their thanks.

“Itadakimasu!”
