The next class was Transfiguration. Although everyone was engrossed in what had happened and wanted to discuss Moody's lesson, the three Unforgivable Curses, and Evan's triumph over Moody, no one dared to do so in Transfiguration class.
Professor McGonagall was strict, and anyone misbehaving in her class would be expelled without a chance of return.
She reviewed everyone's summer assignments and checked how much they remembered of the Transfiguration principles she had taught them last term.
Then, just before the class ended, each student was given a teapot to transform into a turtle.
For the young third-year wizards, this task proved to be quite challenging. They might need a whole term to master this skill.
The top students in the class could barely manage to change the teapot's spout.
The exception was Evan, who simply raised his wand and gently tapped the teapot. A slow-moving turtle appeared before him. The third-year Transfiguration course was too easy for him.
Evan looked up and saw Professor McGonagall guiding the Hufflepuff students on the other side of the classroom.
Everyone focused on the teapot in front of them, waving their wands incessantly and trying to make it transform.
Evan leaned slightly to the right, covering his desk with his body.
He watched the turtle slowly advancing before him, and the wand in his hand gently struck again.
The turtle's body twisted and began rapidly deforming. The horrific monster he had just seen in Moody's memory reappeared.
"What on earth is this?" Evan looked at it anxiously.
He felt his thoughts were muddled, unable to comprehend what he was doing. He couldn't grasp the full picture of this monster. Many parts were blurry, hidden in the infinite darkness surrounding him.
But just looking at it left him utterly shocked.
The spine-shaped bones extended downwards along the blurry central humanoid, each segment corresponding to a grotesque torso.
It was a grotesque mix of various magical creatures.
Evan distinctly remembered that at the bottom of the spine, there was a huge dark blue turtle shell. It protruded there, looking very tough, protecting the inside of the monster's body.
But the most striking feature was the humanoid organism in the center. He felt this monster was based on that humanoid organism and developed around it. It was the core of that monster, and although its specific appearance wasn't clear, it was densely covered in shell-shaped holes.
It was like a shell soaked in the sea, slowly eroded by saltwater, and parasitized by countless plankton.
Originally, Evan believed there was nothing in the world that could surprise him after seeing the evil gods. However, upon seeing this monster in Caresius' memories, he realized he was mistaken.
This might be a new evil spirit, quite different from those he had seen before.
As he observed the monster before him, Evan couldn't help but think, "Is this creature alive, or already dead? Moreover, could this monster be the challenge Caresius and his people will have to face? Caresius is a direct descendant of Slytherin. Could this monster be related to Salazar himself?"
From what he already knew, Salazar had left Hogwarts only in his later years.
He took with him the evil spirit created by Herpo the Foul. In fact, he took the remaining two parts: the brain and the body.
Could the monster Evan saw be the body of the evil god that had been taken?
There was enough space for the monster to be placed in the enormous ruins beneath Aragog's lair and the deep abyss stretching underground. Before Salazar left Hogwarts, perhaps it had been placed there.
This would also explain why Salazar had to dig such a deep well beneath the Forbidden Forest.
If it was only used to seal the eye monster, he could have easily chosen any other location. Such a massive project wouldn't have been necessary.
Following this speculation, could the humanoid organism in the center be Herpo the Foul himself?
Perhaps he transformed his body into an evil god with dark magic and became an immortal being, and that was the remainder of his body.
That was a possibility, but everything was a mystery and Evan could only speculate.
Assuming that this monster was the malevolent god created by Herpo the Foul, he began to ponder Slytherin's actions.
It was well known that in his later years, Salazar and the other three Founders had increasingly different views due to their educational concepts for young wizards, until he finally left the school.
This was the official story, but could his departure from Hogwarts be indeed related to this malevolent spirit?
Perhaps the issue of the malevolent god had been discovered by the other three Founders, and they were divided on how to deal with it.
The malevolent god should not be destructible. Even with the great power of the ancient sorcerers, it could only be ultimately sealed!
Leaving it at Hogwarts would be a problem, so Slytherin eventually left with the other two parts of the malevolent god. Since then, no one had seen him again, except for many legends about him.
So, where did he hide this thing, and why would it be the problem that the vampires would face?
Evan had many speculations in mind, each one of which was inconceivable. If he could clearly see the specific form of the humanoid creature in the middle of the monster, he could make a judgment.
He touched the monster in front of him with his wand, and all parts of its body became more and more visible.
Evan tried his best to recall and used magic to evoke the image of what he had seen again.
There were many details he had not paid attention to before. He had only taken a quick glance at the beginning.
Seeing them this time could play a decisive role.
As if magnified through a magnifying glass, the details of the monster became clearer and clearer, and Evan could see them immediately...
The next second, there was a loud bang, and the monster in front of him suddenly exploded.
It turned back into a teapot, and its debris scattered everywhere.
All the young wizards were startled, and all eyes turned to Evan.
There were murmurs in the classroom, and everyone was wondering why Evan's teapot exploded. As everyone was busy deforming their teapots, no one noticed what happened next to Evan.
"Mason!" Professor McGonagall approached, looked at the debris on the table, and frowned. "You must learn to control your magical power. You have used too much magic, beyond the tolerance of the teapot itself. Transfiguration is about using the right amount of magic for the task, not 'the stronger, the better,' you still have much to learn."
Evan promised and walked to the front to get another teapot.
He was still pondering in his mind. Instead of making guesses here, it might be better to speak directly with Caresius. Since this had happened, it made no sense to continue at a standstill.
Evan decided to ask him directly what the monster was, its origins, and what plans they had and how they were going to get Harry out of the school.
Since it was Caresius, not Barty Crouch Jr., then direct cooperation was the most optimal choice. Continued confrontation can only harm both parties, benefiting Voldemort...
