The International Confederation of Wizards and the Department of Magical Games and Sports of the Ministry of Magic had clear regulations regarding the types of potions prohibited for use in sporting competitions.
There were many types of potions, including the Strength Potion, various potions that enhanced one's magical power, as well as various solutions to improve physical fitness, strength, and agility, and all kinds of potions unsuitable for use in competitions as they could easily disrupt the balance among competitors.
However, the Fire Protection Potion used by Ron was not listed. In fact, it was too unpopular.
This was Evan's special arrangement for the Chinese Fireball dragon's flame and simply impossible to appear on the list of banned substances.
Fighting dragons was not a common sport, let alone a Chinese Fireball in Europe.
Evan had previously verified the relevant information, so he could confidently hand over this Fire Protection Potion to Ron.
Although Bagman explained that Ron's use of potions did not violate the rules, it was clearly not well-received by the public.
The discontented comments grew louder, and the stands were in chaos.
Amidst the noise of young wizards asking questions, a terrible roar from the dragon was heard, increasing the pressure on Ron.
Under the influence of the potion, he felt a cool sensation throughout his body.
Although the loud voices around him affected his concentration, he gradually regained his courage and was no longer as scared and nervous as before.
Courage was what Ron lacked the most and what he needed the most.
After calming down, he attempted the Summoning Charm.
This time, he could hear it clearly, swiftly approaching through the air behind him. Ron turned around hurriedly and saw the Firebolt rushing toward him around the edge of the forest, soaring towards the enclosure, stopping in the air beside him, waiting for him to mount.
"It worked, Ron did it!" exclaimed Harry joyfully, standing up and cheering enthusiastically.
"Come on, Ron!" shouted Hermione with all her might, cheering Ron on.
Everyone present was amazed to see the Firebolt flying towards the enclosure, unsure of what was happening.
Why was a broom flying, and how did it happen?!
The vast majority of young wizards found it very mystical. They hadn't even thought of the Summoning Charm yet!
Ron managed to cast a spell to summon the Firebolt. He no longer appeared as nervous as before.
Evan knew that Ron could still perform well as long as he had enough courage.
For a long time, Ron's biggest problem had been his low self-esteem and lack of self-confidence.
It had to do with the environment he grew up in. Compared to the Weasley family and others, including Evan, Harry, and Hermione, Ron always felt inferior. He never stood out as much, lacked courage, did not have extraordinary talent, and even failed where others succeeded frequently.
He didn't have the ability to stand out like others, and even if he did, it would simply be repeating feats that others around him had already achieved. No one would be surprised by it but rather consider it natural.
Ron was simply an average person compared to the talented wizards he often came into contact with.
If Ron wanted to overcome his internal fear, he needed more opportunities to lead and be the protagonist of his own adventures.
This tournament was a good start. Although it wasn't clear why Barty Crouch Jr. made Ron a champion, Evan sincerely hoped he could seize the opportunity to grow.
After the broom appeared, the crowd became even noisier, and Bagman was shouting something.
But Ron's ears were no longer functioning properly, and listening was not important...
He swung his leg over the broomstick and took off from the ground.
As he ascended, with the wind tousling his hair, as the faces of the crowd turned into tiny pink dots below, and the Chinese Fireball shrank to the size of a dog, he realized he had left behind not only the ground but most importantly, his fear.
Growing more confident, as if he had just regained the feeling of becoming a champion.
Regardless of what he faced, he was no longer afraid. He was fearless.
No matter how ludicrous his previous performance might have been, at this moment, he was a true champion, worthy of his role.
He circled the arena and flew straight towards the Chinese Fire Dragon on the other side.
His eyes met those of the dragon. He glanced down at the nest of eggs and spotted the golden one, gleaming among its companions, nestled safely between the dragon's front paws.
Ron dove, and the dragon's head followed him.
A huge fireball shot out, and Ron hurriedly rolled in the sky. He was too close, and the flame splattered onto him, leaving a large hole in his robe. But it soon extinguished and did no harm to Ron. Evan's Flame Protection Potion was working!
At this point, Ron felt more confident in his victory over the dragon below him.
Ron flew better and better, better than ever before, untouched by the fireballs.
Among those Evan knew, Ron's flying skills were surpassed only by Harry, Fred, and George, far superior to those of other wizards.
If he showed his true level, he could defeat the Chinese Fire Dragon below him.
"Oh my, it's a Firebolt. This is a world-class broom. Mr. Weasley is flying so wonderfully!" exclaimed Bagman excitedly. "What a marvelous performance. Are you watching this, Mr. Krum? He's flying!"
Ron soared higher and higher, dodging flames and taunting the dragon.
But the Chinese Fireball did not seem willing to take off; it was too protective of its eggs. Although it kept shooting huge fireballs, spreading and retracting its wings, and keeping its fearsome eyes on Ron, it was reluctant to move too far from them.
Dragon eggs are a vivid red with golden specks and have a hard texture.
The shell of the Chinese Fireball dragon's egg is highly prized in Chinese wizardry. It is valued and widely used.
Ron knew he had to drive the Chinese Fireball away, or he would never get close to the eggs.
He also remembered what Evan had told him to do in such a situation. He kept waving his wand and using magic: Stupefy, Conjunctivitis Curse, and powerful curses on the dragon, enough threats to make sure it flew to follow him.
Ron began to fly, first in this direction, then in the other, not getting close enough to make her breathe fire to scare him away. The dragon's head rose with him, its neck now elongated to the maximum, swaying from side to side, like a snake dancing in front of a snake charmer...
Ron was like a fly to it, a fly it yearned to crush.
But no matter how provocative Ron was, the Chinese Fireball showed no intention of flying.
Its head followed Ron for a moment, appearing somewhat tired, and indeed went straight down.
Hiding its head and eggs under its wings, it ignored Ron above.
