Three years later, every time I read the old ones I was brought half to tears with how god awful and insensitive they were, so I'm here with a rewrite!

Hailey walked into the clubroom, with a heavy sigh. "Gods.. how much does he carry in this thing!" She groaned, she had her brothers bag in her hands as she dumped the bag onto the floor, gathering the attention of the club members.
"Oh! Hey!" Luke smiled. "Where's Zander? Is he catching up with homework or something?"
Hailey huffed as she sat up on a desk, her brows furrowed with minor annoyance and also concern. "Drew and his friends wrote all over his desk and his locker again." She sighed, fumbling with her earring. "I offered to help but he just reassured me he'd be fine and just to take his bag to here so.. I assume he's cleaning up right now."
"Again-!? Seriously! I can beat up those assho-" She tried to threaten through gritted teeth as she clenched her fists, but she was promptly cut off.
"Milly." Sean said firmly. "You're going to get expelled one more incident, remember? You also need to remember that beating them up won't make anything better. If anything it'll upset zander more. Okay? You know how he feels about your fights." She grumbled something but nontheless turned on her heel to set up her guitar.
"Ah really..? God.. I'll go see if he's at his locker in that case." Luke sighed. Hailey gave him an appreciative nod. "Yeah maybe.. just talk to him, I know that it's a tedious thing to clean all of that off."
"Well.. I'll see how long it takes, if we don't make it back in time, then I'll see you guys tomorrow!" Luke waved to the club before grabbing his coat and bag and rushing off.
He sped walk through the halls. He was annoyed. Annoyed that this kept on happening. Time and time again. But more than that he felt sympathy toward Zander, of course. He always admired Zander in times like this. He was so strong and never let it show it bothered him.
When he approached, he saw Zander crouched by his locker, dipping a sponge into a bucket of soapy water as he scrubbed away at his locker door. He seemed alright. The worse Luke could make out was some irritation, but that was all.
"Hey baby. You doing alright..?" Luke spoke in his usual calm and soothing demeanour, as he walked over and crouched next to him.
"Huh-! Oh, yeah, I'm alright. Just a pain in the ass." He rolled his eyes with a small grumble under his breath. "This stuff is always so hard to get off."
"Yeah I can imagine.. can I help at all?"
"Uhh.. just.. stay here I guess? I like your company." He responded, still not even looking away from the locker as he scrubbed. Luke smiled softly as he sat himself down and leaned against the locker next to Zanders.
"Doesn't.. doesn't it make you upset..?"
Zander paused for a second, before he continued to scrub. "I mean.. I suppose.. I guess it's more the humiliation aspect of it I guess-? I mean, I'm 17. I'm not going to throw a hissy fit and cry because some boys painted the word 'stupid' 'dumb' 'die' etc etc on my desk and locker. I guess the thing that kind of makes me a little bit upset is the fact that people in the school can see it- and that's just embarrassing. Butttt.. what's even the likelihood I'll talk to even one fifth of the people in our year after I graduate?"
"Pretty low. You tend to keep to yourself.. I doubt you'd be rushing to any reunions."
Zander laughed quietly. Lukes smiled again. Zander didn't really laugh to often, usually it was just a smile. But Luke always adored when he could make Zander laugh or giggle. Even though it was never a loud laugh, never a long laugh, more a chuckle than anything, it still made Luke smile. It made him smile to know HE could make Zander happy.
