Song of Chapter - Neon Trees - Animal
_________
September
Early morning In a town far away from Shibuya, kids and teens filled the streets up as it was the start of the new semester for all students in every grade. It was mid-September, and the fall chills creeped through pretty early this year as everyone was bundled up in a simple light sweater or scarf. Some kids played with the small amount of leaves that were on the ground holding their moms or dads hands, while teens walked amongst themselves or in groups gossiping about the latest things or on the phone.
In an apartment, a young man slept peacefully with his choppy black hair scattered around his pillow and his body hiding beneath a thick, dark blue comforter. The sun shines through the crack between the curtain and the window frame, hitting him on the face and slightly waking him up from his sleep. Underneath, the boy began sweating along with some tossed and turned and his body jerking out of control. He was dreaming about a young woman who always appeared in his dreams, ever since he was a teen boy. It was always hard for him to see her face clearly, but the woman had pale skin and wore a black outfit underneath a white Haori and what seemed to be pink and green hair. She always extended her arms, bringing him closer into her embrace. But this time, she whispered, "I love you, Obanai.". Which shook him up and woke him from his slumber.
Gasping for air, the boy jolted forward from his sleep, eyes wide open and hyperventilating. holding on to his face in one hand and gripping the comforter with the other, while trying to control his breathing. Realizing he was covered in sweat, he removed the comforter off of him to let the cold temperature of his room cool him down, exposing his body. He wore nothing but his dark blue boxers, slim-toned body, and messy hair from sleep. He leans back onto the bed, shielding his eyes from the sun with his right arm. He thought about the girl in his dreams over and over again, as it wasn't his first time dreaming about her, but this time he heard her voice. "Who are you?"
Obanai thought to himself as he heard a knock that echoed through his dark room. Hesitated to answer, Iguro got up from his bed and grabbed the nearest black tank top with words that said "My Chemical Romance" written on the middle and his grey baggy sweatpants. He reached the doorknob and opened it slowly, giving the person on the other side the look of death—the look of "Why the hell do you want?" look. Iguro was not a morning person. Birthday confetti popped in front of him, spooking him just a bit. "Happy Birthday, Bro!"
Standing in front of him was one of his roommates, Kyojuro Rengoku, whom he knew since he was young. He lived with him and his family after his family was murdered at a young age. Even though he wasn't blood related, he views him as his brother and someone dear to his heart. Rengoku stood about 6 inches taller than him and had a more muscular physique than Iguro. He wore a long sleeve burnt orange cardigan with a beige shirt underneath, deep blue jeans with brown Oxford sneakers, and a brown leather watch on his right wrist. He always wore casual yet presentable clothes, not to mention his cheerful personality, which always attracted the ladies. With his cheerful smile, it was enough to change Iguros mood from annoyed to relaxed. "Good morning, Iguro! I hope your sleep was good."
"No," Iguro fluffed his hair, removing all the small confetti, and walked away from the door and laid back to bed. Mornings were never an Iguro thing. He was more of a night owl and preferred to be out when the sun sets. Like Rengoku, Iguro dressed the part as well and also attracted the ladies, but the girls who found him attractive were the emo/edgy/dark girls who would fit with his style, but none ever grabbed his attention. Iguro had a bad history of ditching young ladies the minute he met them. Nothing terrible that the young ladies would do, but the one thing that was a turn-off he had was the "Vally Girl" accent. It was a trend that a lot of ladies would do, and it irked him to the core. One of his dates lasted 0.9 seconds the minute he heard "Hello" or "like" in that accent. He just couldn't find the one he wanted to be with, the one who could put a smile on his face.

FLASHBACK
During the night hours on a summer night, Iguro walked down the downtown street wearing a white and black striped short-sleeve button-down shirt, black dress pants, black leather loafers, and a black wrist watch. Saname arranged a blind date, and by the looks, she was a girl that had his sense of fashion as well; black on black on black clothes. As he continued to walk, the young lady waved at him as she wore a black bodycon mini dress while holding on to a sparkling couch and long black ombré hair that faded into a turquoise blue at the end. Her first words were, "Omg! Like-Um Hi," before the girl could finish, Iguro turned around mid-walk and never saw the woman again. It seemed that Saname purposely arranged the meeting, knowing Iguro would bail. The boys always found ways to tease each other. And Saname handled Rengoku $20; he would bail.

Rengoku followed Iguro in, reminding him of the time. "It is 7:45, and class starts at 9. You have 25 minutes left to get dressed." He walked to the window next to his bed; he quickly opened the blinds, letting the sun shine through in his room. "Today will be a great day full of new things and new adventures! It's your first time in day classes.".
"No, it's not." Iguro answered him while looking up at the ceiling nonchalantly.
"And it's the start of your new adventure!" Rengoku said with his hand on his hip and embraced the warm sun.
Iguro looked at him and thought to himself if what he said was true. Would going during day classes actually change his life? Would good things actually come his way? Iguro never doubted his brother, but maybe this time things would change. Iguro got up and headed to his closet to pick out his outfit for the day while Rengoku laid on his bed, checked his social media page, and noticed a follow-back on a girl he met during sign-up for classes.
Saname popped his head in, fully dressed and ready to head out. He wore black jeans with a light gray sweater and combat boots. His black backpack was handed over his left shoulder and a thermal mug of coffee on the other hand. "Yo, ima head out now; I gotta meet up with Genya first to take his to his new high school. I'll meet you guys there. Also happy birthday".
"Yea man! See you there!" Rengoku, Iguro, and Saname fist bumped. Rengoku got up from Iguros bed and headed back to his room. "I'll be waiting in the living room! Just let me know when you're ready.".
After 10 minutes, Iguro came out of his room fully dressed for the day. He wore black ripped jeans with an open black military hoodie jacket and a dark grey shirt underneath with black boots. His hair pulled up into a ponytail, exposing his pierced ears. On his left ear he had an industrial piercing and gauges, and on the right ear he had the other matching gauges. And to finish the look, a white face mask. Iguro was a simple man; his favorite color was black and white, and only on rare occasions would he wear a different color. He wasn't big on sweets and barely ate as much either. He was into rock and heavy metal and owned his own guitar, which he played from time to time, though it annoyed the neighbors downstairs.
As they rushed to the train station, they managed to catch the train and hop in it. It wasn't moments later that a couple of girls from the same college approached Rengoku and started speaking to him, ignoring Iguro. Iguro, not caring at all, put on his headphones and shuffled through songs until he reached the song "Eternally Yours" by Motionless in White. He closed his eyes and tilted his head back against the train door and thought about the girl in his dreams. He wondered why he couldn't shake her out of his head and why it was always the same woman. He could never see her eyes, but he could always see her beautiful smile. The way she turned to look at him. The way her pink and green braided hair was swinging with her body and the way she always would always extend her arms to hug him. Hearing her voice for the first time shook him, but now it was his new favorite memory he replayed over and over in his head. 'Who are you?' He thought to himself. He couldn't stop thinking about her.
_____
As the train came to a stop at the new station and announced it, Iguro opened his eyes and was surprised by the amount of people who rushed inside, separating him from Rengoku but still in his view. Iguro looked around the train and noticed a girl. His heart dropped, and his body grew a deep chill as if he saw a ghost. His eyes glued at the end of the train, he noticed the back of a girl's head who had pink braided hair into 3 sections. He couldn't see her face, but he wondered if she was the girl in his dreams. It was impossible. He couldn't have imagined a woman, and she came true in real life. Wanting to reach up to her, he was stuck between the crowd and didn't have a way to reach her. As the train reached its next stop, she left the train first, leaving Iguro to wait till the crowd reduced. He finally stepped out to catch the girl, but she was gone, out of his reach.
"Hey bro, are you good?" Rengoku placed his hand on Iguro's shoulder and noticed his wide eyes and stiff body. "You look like you noticed a ghost.".
Iguro snapped out of it and rubbed the back of his neck. "You can say that..." he walked with Rengoku down the station stairs and headed to the college.
Reaching the college, the boys said their goodbyes and parted ways. Iguro went to his chemistry class while Rengoku went to his art history class. Reaching the doorway of his class, Rengoku noticed his friend, who was removing her purse and unraveling her scarf from her neck. He walked over to her and placed his backpack on the empty chair next to hers. "Good morning, Kanroji! Cold morning, isn't it?".
The girl wore high-waisted light brown leggings with a plaid woolen coat and a long beige scarf. Her pink hair was parted into three long braids, one on each side of her face and one in the back of her bead, with lime green tips at the end of each braid. A beige purse lay on top of the table, where she stationed herself with an open pink thermal mug filled with coffee that filled the classroom with a sweet vanilla smell and a clear container that held a blueberry muffin inside. She sat next to him and smiled at him. "Good morning, Rengoku.".
