It was past noon and the group returned to the girls' apartment, their minds heavy with everything that had just happened. An uneasy silence settled over them as they gathered in the living room. Sanemi slouched back on the couch, his head tilted back, staring at the ceiling with a tired sigh. Kanae curled up beside him, hiding her face behind her knees. Mitsuri sat on the floor in front of them, hugging her legs as well, while Obanai lay on the floor beside her, one arm draped over his eyes. Everyone was exhausted.

No one spoke for a while. The weight of the unsettling encounter with Sanemi's father lingered in the air. Eventually, Kanae broke the silence, her voice soft but determined.

"Honestly, after all this... I could soak in some hot springs," she mumbled, her voice muffled as she leaned her cheek against her knees.

Sanemi shifted uncomfortably, glancing away. "You guys should go, I'll stay behind and keep an eye out for Doma and watch over the apartments" he muttered. "Hot Springs aren't my thing."

Kanae looked at him, a hint of irritation and worry flashing across her face. "Sanemi, you should come! You're always... busy. Why don't you take a break and just relax for a few days?"

Sanemi's gaze dropped to the floor, and he scratched the back of his neck. "I don't know," he mumbled, his usual confidence faltering under her concerned eyes.

"I can use my vacation hours for those days" Obanai said, still lying on the floor with his eyes closed. "Mits is right from the start... We could all use the time away. Maybe not being around can trick him."

At that, Mitsuri seemed to remember something, a flicker of worry crossing her face. "Um... I'll be right back," she said, her voice low. She stood up and walked towards her room, her mind racing.

Obanai opened one eye, watching her go, sensing something was wrong. He sat up, his gaze lingering on Mitsuri bedroom door where she disappeared behind.

In her room, Mitsuri took a deep breath and called her manager, hoping she could get the days off. But as the conversation went on, her heart sank. Her manager's tone was cold, and with each word, her hope faded. When she finally hung up, Mitsuri stared at her phone, trying to process the reality—she'd just lost her job for calling out too often.

As she sat on the edge of her bed, overwhelmed by everything that happened in less than 24 hours. A soft knock sounded on the door, followed by Obanai's voice. "Mitsuri? Everything okay?"

She glanced up, her eyes brimming with tears. "Come in," she whispered.

Obanai slipped into the room, closing the door behind him. His gaze softened as he took in her tearful expression. "What's wrong?" he asked, moving closer.

Mitsuri swallowed, her voice barely a whisper. "I... I got let go. They fired me for missing too many days." She hid her face in her hands, ashamed.

Obanai sat beside her, gently pulling her hands away from her face. "Hey, it's okay," he said softly. "These things happen."

She shook her head, trying to keep her composure. "It's not okay... I only have enough for two months of rent. Then I'm... I'm screwed. Maybe I should move back in with my parents. Maybe I can work for them."

Obanai's heart sank. He looked at her seriously, his hand reaching for hers. "What about us?"

Mitsuri looked up at him, a sad smile crossing her lips. "I still want to be with you, Obanai," she whispered, her eyes softening as they met his. "But everything going on... it's hard not to thinking about going back home."

Obanai's expression softened too, relief filling his gaze. "Then stay," he said, giving her hand a reassuring squeeze. "I'll help cover your expenses until you get back on your feet."
