Inside, the heavy beat of metal music pulsed faintly through the glass, the distinct notes of Avenged Sevenfold's "Afterlife" cutting through the air.
The shop door jingled softly as Obanai pushed it open, the music immediately washing over them in full force.
The interior of the shop was a mix of dark, industrial aesthetics and heavy metal artwork. Exposed brick walls framed the space, adorned with intricate designs of serpents, skulls, and flames. Metallic sculptures of twisting snakes coiled ominously around the shelves, and the faint scent of antiseptic mingled with the smell of leather and ink.
"Obanai!"
A cheerful voice called out from behind the counter, and Mitsuri's attention snapped to a tall, red-haired woman with multiple piercings and tattoos. She wore tight high waisted jeans with a black sleeveless crop top that showed a large view of her cleavage, her confident grin lighting up the dim space.
"Well, look who it is. Back again already?" the woman teased, leaning on the counter as her sharp eyes scanned him with familiarity. "What is this, your second visit this month? You're obsessed with me aren't you." The woman teased.
Obanai smirked, sliding his free hand into his pocket. "What can I say? I'm loyal to the best."
The woman chuckled, her gaze flicking to Mitsuri. "And who's this? Don't tell me you dragged your girlfriend here for one of your sessions."
"She's not here for me," Obanai said smoothly, his tone amused as he tightened his grip on Mitsuri's hand. "Mitsuri's the one getting something done today."
Mitsuri flushed, her face turning bright pink as the woman grinned at her.
"Oh? What are we doing, sweetheart? Ink or piercings?"
"P-Piercings," Mitsuri stammered, her voice barely audible.
The woman's grin widened, her teasing energy contagious. "Nice! What kind of piercing are we talking about?"
Mitsuri hesitated, her nerves getting the better of her, but Obanai leaned slightly closer, his voice low and steady as he whispered, "Just tell her. It's not a big deal."
"N-Nipple piercings..." Mitsuri mumbled, her face burning as she glanced nervously at the floor.
The woman blinked in surprise before letting out an impressed laugh. "Oooo she's spicy! I love it. You're in the right place—we'll take good care of you."
Mitsuri fidgeted slightly, still clutching Obanai's hand as the woman reached under the counter and grabbed a clipboard. "Here's the paperwork—just standard stuff. Fill it out, and we'll get started."
Obanai guided Mitsuri over to the small waiting area, sitting down beside her as she nervously filled out the form. He leaned back, watching her with a mix of amusement and affection.
"You're so worked up," he teased, his tone soft. "It's just a piercing. You'll be fine."
Mitsuri shot him a glare, her pout deepening. "Easy for you to say, you got like 10 thousand of them. You're supposed to be comforting me, not teasing me!"
He chuckled, leaning closer so their shoulders brushed. "I am comforting you. If I wasn't here, you'd be a nervous wreck."
She couldn't argue with that, though her blush deepened as she finished the form and handed it back to the woman.
"Alright, you two—follow me," the woman said, leading them toward a private room at the back of the shop.
The room was small but spotless, the walls decorated with framed photos of piercings and tattoos. A sterile tray of equipment with sealed equipment was laid out under the bright overhead light, and a large mirror stood in the corner.
