Chapter Song: Jutes - "Sleepyhead"
______

After 30 minutes of heavy conversation, the two men silently agreed to return to the waiting room. The air between them was tense, but a strange calm had settled in—an unspoken acknowledgment of what lay ahead.

Obanai pushed open the door, his eyes immediately scanning the room. His stomach churned when he realized Mitsuri wasn't there.

"Where's Mitsuri?" he asked, his voice sharp with concern as he turned to Shinobu.

Shinobu, still seated beside Kanao, looked up, startled. "She said she was going to find you two," she replied, her brow furrowing. "That was about 20 minutes ago."

Obanai's chest tightened. He reached into his pocket, pulling out his phone to check for any messages or calls. His blood ran cold when he saw an unread text from an unknown number.

With trembling fingers, he opened the message.

"Got your cute little bunny here. Come get her."

Attached to the message was a photo. Mitsuri's face was pale, her wide eyes brimming with terror, a single tear tracing a path down her bruised cheek. Her wrists were tightly bound, the ropes biting into her delicate skin. Doma was leaning over her, his twisted smile dripping with malice as his tongue pressed against the bruise on her cheek. His hand gripped her hair cruelly, pulling her head back as if she were a trophy on display.

Obanai's stomach churned as he took in the background. It wasn't just any room. It was his childhood room—the place where nightmares had began, the room where they had locked him away, drowning him in despair and agony.

Now, they had her there.

The photo was more than a taunt—it was a declaration of war. And Obanai was ready to burn the world down to end it.

Obanai's vision blurred with rage as he gripped the phone so tightly his knuckles turned white. Sanemi noticed his sudden change in demeanor and stepped closer. "What's wrong?"

Obanai didn't answer immediately. He shoved the phone into Sanemi's hand, letting him see for himself. Sanemi's eyes widened, his face darkening with fury. "That bastard..."

"I told her to stay here," Obanai hissed through clenched teeth, his voice trembling with a mix of anger and fear. "Why the hell didn't she listen?"

Sanemi growled low in his throat. "You're not going alone. If you think I'm letting you face that psychopath by yourself, you've lost your damn mind."

Obanai turned to him, his expression fierce. "This isn't up for debate, Sanemi. I don't have time to argue with you. If I don't show up, he'll kill her."

"And if you go alone, he'll kill both of you!" Sanemi shot back, stepping in front of Obanai. "You think Doma's playing fair? He's got Misaki, and who knows how many others backing him up. This is a trap, and you know it!"

Obanai's fists clenched at his sides, his mind racing. He knew Sanemi was right—this was a trap. But every second he wasted here was another second Mitsuri spent in Doma's hands.

Shinobu stood up, her sharp eyes narrowing as she walked toward them. "What's going on?" she demanded.

Sanemi hesitated, glancing at Obanai. But Obanai shook his head. "Stay out of this," he said curtly. "This is my fight."

Shinobu's gaze hardened. "If this involves Mitsuri, then it's not just your fight. We're all in this together, Obanai. Whats happened to Mitsuri?"

Sanemi quickly filled her in, showing her the message. Shinobu's face paled, but her resolve only strengthened. "You can't go alone," she said firmly. "Doma won't give her up that easily, and you know it."
