As the conversation continued, Hiroshi leaned back, looking at Obanai with a more thoughtful expression. "So, Obanai, you're in college, right? Are you at the same school as Mitsuri?"

"Yes, sir," Obanai replied, nodding. "We actually met through my adopted brother at her job. She was nervous but was very welcoming."

Hiroshi chuckled, clearly able to relate. "That she does. Mitsuri's always had this light to her, something that makes everyone around her feel welcome." He tilted his head, studying Obanai. "What about you, though? Do you know what you want to be when you graduate?"

Obanai's smile faltered a bit, and he glanced away, hesitant. "To be honest, I'm not sure yet. I'm still figuring things out... I just know that I want to do something meaningful, something where I can make a difference, I guess."

Hiroshi nodded, his gaze encouraging. "That's okay. Sometimes it takes a while to find your path, and college is a good time to explore. You know, Mitsuri's been working hard on her own goals. She's trying to get her culinary degree, and she's also studying business management. She's got this dream of opening her own restaurant someday—says she wants to make a place that feels like home for people, where everyone's welcome."

Obanai's eyes softened as he listened, his admiration for Mitsuri growing. "I knew she loved cooking, but... I didn't realize she was taking on that much. That's amazing."

"Yeah, she's ambitious." Hiroshi looked around with a proud but nostalgic smile. "She gets it from both her parents, I guess. I'm the head chef here, and Rumi's the manager of the hot springs. She oversees everything and makes sure our guests feel at home. It took us a long time to build this place to what it is now. We had our share of struggles, but we made it work."

Obanai nodded, taking it all in. "It sounds like you both put your hearts into this place. I can see why Mitsuri wants to follow in your footsteps."

Hiroshi smiled with a hint of pride. "We did. And we're proud of her for wanting the same thing. Whatever you decide, Obanai, don't rush it. Just make sure it's something that feels true to who you are. And... if you're serious about being with Mitsuri, you've got our support. You seem like a good man. Better than the last one she was with. She still hasn't told us why they broke up, but i suppose it doesn't matter."

Obanai looked down, feeling both humbled and grateful. "Thank you, sir. That means a lot."

Obanai, still curious, ventured with another question. "When did you and Rumi have Mitsuri? You mentioned high school, right?"

Hiroshi nodded, his expression taking on a mix of fondness and a touch of regret. "Yeah... toward the end of high school, actually. Just as we were figuring out what we wanted from life, we found out Rumi was pregnant. Her parents weren't thrilled, to put it mildly. They insisted we get married right away. I didn't mind marrying her that early—I loved her and still do—but I'll admit, it wasn't exactly how I imagined it'd go."

Obanai felt a quiet admiration for Hiroshi. He could sense the weight of Hiroshi's experiences, and in a way, it felt like looking at a path he himself will take if he stayed with Mitsuri long-term. Before he could respond, Hiroshi's phone began to buzz. Glancing at the screen, Hiroshi frowned slightly.

"Looks like I'm needed in the kitchen. Sorry, Obanai; duty calls." He moved to stand but stopped, fixing Obanai with a firm, steady gaze. His expression softened, but there was no mistaking the seriousness in his eyes.

"Listen, Obanai," Hiroshi said, his tone low but resolute, "Rumi and I approve of you, and from what I can see, you're a good man. Mitsuri clearly cares about you, and I trust her judgment. But know this..." He leaned in, his voice unwavering. "Make one mistake—make just one wrong move that puts Mitsuri in harm's way—and I promise you you'll ll never see her again. We'll find someone else for her, someone who will keep her safe. Do I make myself clear."

Obanai swallowed hard, feeling the weight of Hiroshi's words settle over him. The image of Doma flickered in his mind, and a pang of dread shot through him as he remembered the danger that still lurked. He nodded, feeling his hands tense slightly as he forced himself to keep steady.

"Yes, sir. I understand completely," Obanai replied, his voice a bit quieter than before but filled with sincerity.

Hiroshi's expression softened just slightly, and he gave Obanai a firm nod before stepping away. As he left, Obanai's heart continued to pound.
