For the sake of keeping a low profile, they chose not to drive the police car. Out of the three people, Hoseok's driving skill was notorious for making people get light concussion afterwards, Taehyung was still not familiar with the road yet, and thus the important task of being the driver could only fall on Jimin's head.

Even before they set out on their mission, they already encountered a problem - seating position.

Taehyung had just wanted to slip into the shotgun seat when Jimin pointed at the back, his tone bitingly cold. "You sit there."

The corner of Taehyung's lip twitched and he looked like he wanted to say something. But in the end, he merely shrugged and opened the door to the passenger seat.

"Psst, Jimin." Hoseok inched closer when he saw that Taehyung had already settled inside the car. "Did something happen between you and Tae? Why am I sensing some kind of hostility here?"

Whenever Jimin thought of how Taehyung had declared to track down and capture Jungkook with his own hands, intense enmity and malice brewed within his dark eyes. However, he was not the kind of person who let his personal emotions get in the way of work. No matter how much he despised Taehyung, the entire City Bureau had acknowledged his skill, and he was even sent here by the Interpol. Jimin knew that he could not make a ruckus, and hence he opted to keep a close watch on Taehyung to prevent him from seeing Jungkook instead.

Alas, who could have guessed that they would be working together so soon?

"Nothing of the sort," he told Hoseok.

'But your grumpy face doesn't look like it's nothing though?' was what Hoseok wished he could say out loud. But for fear that he would make the atmosphere more tense than what it already was, he could only swallow his words and chuckled dryly, "Okay, fine. So... I'm sitting in the front?"

Much to his surprise, Jimin firmly shook his head. "You sit on the back with him."

Hoseok: "..."

"Hmm?" Taehyung raised a brow when he saw Hoseok climb into the seat beside him with a wilted look. "You're banished here too?" he teased with laughter in his tone.

Jimin heard his words in time when he slipped into the driver seat. "Don't think too much," he said whilst turning on the engine. "The front seat is reserved for my Alpha."

"Oh!" Hoseok's gossip radar was activated and he forgot his sadness right away. He hooked his arms around the shotgun's seat headrest and stretched his neck forward like a giraffe, his eyes glittering in curiosity. "Your Alpha? Are you talking about Mr. Jeon? Hehehe, I never pegged you as a passionate lover. Have you two... you know..." his gaze landed on the bandage around Jimin's neck, the meaning behind it obvious.

"Mr. Jeon?" Taehyung sounded intrigued as well.

"Still courting," Jimin gave a curt reply before switching the topic. "Where are we going? Brief me about the case."

Just like that, Hoseok's attention was instantly distracted. After he told Jimin the address of the nursing home, he proceeded to talk about what had happened when the latter was absent;-

Ruan's blood and urine test that proved the traces of AX-03 in his system, his sudden differentiation, the discovery of Seo-Won's corpse and how they came to know about the existence of the imposter.

He talked for fifteen minutes straight without stopping, not showing any signs of exhaustion at all. His voice was lively and cheerful, and he even included his own theory and conspiracy. That's why even though Jimin and Taehyung did not talk, the atmosphere in the car was not awkward at all.
