Chapter 37

"I am assigning Ms. Trina Solis as the new COO of the La Inertia Furniture Corporation."

Kinakabahan akong napatingin kay Tita Rowena na naka upo sa tabi ko. Tinapik nya ang aking balikat at nginitian ako na sinasabing wag akong kabahan at kakayanin ko.

I took a deep breath then I smiled victoriously. Tumayo ako sa aking kina uupuan at nag lakad papuntang unahan ng conference room.

"Congratulation Ms. Solis." Tito said proudly as he reached his hand to me.

"Thank you po Mr. Morales." I smiled as I took his hand to shake.

I confidently faced the people around me. The shareholders, board of director and their assistant and secretary. I could tell the other members were disappointed with their appearance. Some were whispering and others just smiling at me.

"Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen." I greeted them all with warm smiles.

"I know that everyone is still shocked by what you've heard. Well, when I also heard about it, I was also shocked. I am hesitating to take on these big responsibilities because I am not really confident if I can do the job of the COO. But someone believed in me-----

I stopped then I took a glance to Tito who just nodded at me and Tita Rowena who is smiling at me.

----they believed on my potential, they believed that I could do better and they believed that I could be a COO of this company....I remembered the first time that I came here in La Inertia, my mind was clouded because finally, I will be part of one of the most successful furniture and accessories around the world. As I starting my job in research and development department, I also starting to learn how many La Inertia in the world and I am so astonished on what I found out....This company was so good and so fortunate. That's why right now, I am beholden in everyone and to company----but don't worry everyone, I attend so many training and I was trained by the best mentor here in La Inertia."

I glanced again to Tito and Tita.

"Mr. and Mrs. Morales and their team trained me so well before announcing me as the new COO of the company."

Tumigil akong muli at natawa ng bahadya. Hindi ko tinanggal ang tingin kay Tita. "I am sorry Mrs. Morales, but I think I will be the best COO in the history in La Inertia."

Natawa sya at tumango sa aking sinabi. "It excites me to see that." Hamon nya sakin.

I nodded at her with proudly smile and I looked again to the other members. "And now I am confidently telling you all that I am the best choice for the position. I am just hoping that everyone can accept me now and give me a chance to prove myself....Thank you everyone! I am Trina Solis, your new COO."

I smiled at end of my speech. Madaming nakangiti at nagpalakpakan pero may mga members na mukhang hindi talaga gusto na ako ang bagong COO.

Pero mas masaya ako dahil alam kong madaming natuwa sakin at maayos ang naging speech ko.

"Mr. Morales, why are you giving the COO position on the person who don't have shares on the company?"

Napatingin kaming lahat kay Mr. Cortez ng mag salita ito, isa sa mga shareholder.

"I am sorry for not informing everyone on that case. Well, Ms Solis has shares on the company. The half of my wife's share are given to Ms. Solis. So she can be a COO of my company, Mr. Cortez."
