The group took the last train of the day. Shinobu sat with Giyu, discussing upcoming events they had planned. Kanae wore Sanemi's flannel jacket as she sat quietly on his lap, moving her wrist around to help with the circulation. Mitsuri, however, sat across from Obanai, wearing the black jacket he had lent her. Watching the other couples interact made her heart ache. She was too embarrassed to sit near him after the night they shared—a sensual dance and a long makeout session that left her too nervous to speak or be around him. Before tonight, she hadn't spoken to Obanai for weeks, and now, with their dancing and the release of so many emotions without fully talking about their situation, she wondered what might happen between them.

Her eyes darted to Obanai, slouched in his seat with his left hand tucked under the other, legs spread wide, hair down from where it had been tied up at the club. He was on his phone, seemingly absorbed in whatever he was looking at, but Mitsuri couldn't stop herself from staring at him. His shirt was unbuttoned slightly, revealing the necklaces draped over his chest, and a peek of his chest muscles. The sight was sexy—too sexy. Her mind wandered, imagining how it would feel to run her fingers along his skin, how warm and soft he must feel beneath her touch.

Her breath caught as her thoughts trailed back to their dance, to the way his body had pressed against hers, moving in sync. The memory of it made her tingle with desire, and she found herself biting her lip, overwhelmed with the realization of just how badly she wanted him, how being close to him meant everything.

Mitsuri missed him deeply, wishing the distance between them had never happened. Though their fun night seemed to have smoothed over their recent fight, she knew the real hurdle was sitting down and talking things out. As the night went on, she made up her mind—she wanted to stay in the relationship, despite the doubts creeping into her heart. He had said he missed her and whispered other sweet things, but she couldn't help but wonder if they were just empty promises. Did their dancing tonight stir the same feelings in him as it did in her? Obanai had always been difficult to read, and now, as she watched him, her heart ached with the desire to reach out and make the first move.

As she stole one more glance at him before gathering the courage to stand up, Obanai, sensing her gaze, looked up. Mitsuri quickly looked away, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment from being caught. Obanai smiled softly, his attention returning to his phone.

A moment later, her phone buzzed. It was a text from Obanai. Her heart skipped a beat as she quickly silenced the phone and opened the message.

Obanai: "Hey."

Mitsuri: "Hi."

Obanai: "Are you still cold?"

Mitsuri: "A little, but your jacket is helping. Thank you again."

Obanai: "No problem."

The conversation fell quiet again. Mitsuri glanced up at him, noticing the small smile on his face as he scrolled through his phone. His relaxed expression made her heart flutter.
