For a minute, Chelsea stood still. Eyes widen in shock, not in confusion. Then she turned to David who nodded his head, "I showed her the video a while ago."

Slowly turning to me, her eyes were soft and guilt. I shook my head for them, "I'm not mad at you. Or at Carter. Or maybe I am mad at him a little bit. But besides that, right now I'm just. . . Processing everything and I'm sorry."

"You're sorry?" Chelsea asked, becoming alert and anxious by my apology. "For what? You didn't do anything wrong,"

"But I did, I broke my promise to Carter," I said frustrated with myself. For three years, I haven't kept my side of our promise. "When he took me on that trip before he died, he made me promise to always be there for you. That we always stick together, no matter what happens. That our friendship would stay the same when he's gone and I . . ."

I quickly brushed away any tears that wanted to come out. Right now wasn't about me, I don't want to make this moment about me.

Before I could say anything, Chelsea already had me in her arms. Hugging me tight as I stood still, "What happened between us wasn't your fault. I broke our friendship apart, not you. I'm sorry for doing that and making you think that it was your fault."

My arms wrapped around her, hugging her back. That's when I felt a small part of me feel less heavy and relieved. I never realized that I even felt it before, yes I was sad that we weren't friends anymore. But I didn't know that I unconsciously blamed myself for it.

We stayed like this for a couple of minutes before pulling away, smiling at each other, "So, we're all good?"

Letting out a small scoff before lightly poking my side saying, "Yeah, we're good."

"Good, 'cause you have some tea to share with me," I said hocking my arm with hers, walking into her hotel room. Thankfully the cheerleader that she was sharing the room with wasn't there.

Turning to David who was standing at the door with a small smile, "You two have fun catching up."

I didn't want him to leave, I wanted him to stay. I wanted him to stay, so that he could share some memories of Carter and Chelsea dating. Just before he walked away, I lightly caught his forearm, "David,"

"This moment is about you and Chelsea rebuilding your friendship,  Anela." He looked at me with a lighthearted expression. His eyes were soft with a small smile, "I'll be in my room if you're looking for me."

He was trying to walk away, but I stopped him when I almost threw myself into him. Wrapping my arms around his waist, holding him for a short moment before saying softly, "Thank you for everything tonight."

Then I let go of him before going back into Chelsea's room. She was ordering room service while I was closing the door.

The room was styled in warm colors with a touch of plum. I sat down on one of the twin beds which I was guessing Chelsea slept in.

"Before we get into me and Carter, first tell me how you are? After finding out about everything tonight?" Chelsea said as she sat down on the opposite side bed. Crossing her legs while taking my hand with a concerned look, "Are you ok? Honestly."

For a minute I thought about myself, mentally checking myself before saying, "Honestly I'm still trying to figure everything out. Kinda feel like I've been thrown into a wormhole and trying to get out of it."

Squeezing my hand lightly with a small smile, "I should have told you that I know of David, Charlotte, and Ryan. But Carter asked me not to tell you anything until David showed you his video."
