Texas Fever

I really think your all going to like this one, since the Texas episodes I've wanted to include papy Joe in a one shot, mostly because i just love his name. So I hope you like it and let me know what you think.

We had gone on another family holiday to Texas so Riley could see papy Joe who was starting to look a bit worse for wear. This time I couldn't do a lot as I was nearly seven months but I watched Lucas and Riley have loads of fun. It made me realize how much Lucas missed Texas and papy Joe especially now that Joe couldn't handle the ranch as much as he used to. I even felt myself never wanting to leave but I shook off the feeling and carried on enjoying our visit.

When we got home Lucas would ring Papy Joe every night to make sure him and the ranch were doing ok. But one night he didn't answer.

"Riley, Joe didn't answer the phone and I'm worried about him, I might have to leave and go make sure he's ok!" He shouted as he came crashing through the front door.

"He's fine." I shouted back..

"We don't know that, something bad could have happened. I
have to go to..." He became silent as he entered the family room. There was papy Joe sitting on our white sofa smiling at Lucas who had the most stunned face.

"Dont leave your mouth open, are you trying to catch flies?!" Papy Joe grunted with his deep southern accent. Lucas instantly shut his mouth and smiled back at Papy Joe.

"Bucky, I've decided we're moving to Texas!" I never thought me of all people would be saying these words but I was, it might have just been the baby brain talking.

"What, are you crazy?!" Lucas replied back to my statement.

"Look, its simple. You miss Texas and pay Joe needs help, right?" I asked

"Yeah I guess so." He replied.

"Well I bought the 6 acre land that was next to Joe's." He looked at me still trying to process what I was saying

"Im a painter so I can paint anywhere and your a baller you have to travel wherever we live, so really, it doesn't matter where we live. We can build a house in Texas and live here for a couple more years till it's done and then move to Texas but keep our apartment here for when you have games you have to come back for." I explained. He stood there for a while trying to process everything that was happening around his head. I could almost see what he was thinking as he was thinking it.

He looked up at papy Joe who had a spark of faith in his eyes that he was trying to hide, and then at me.

Lucas' POV

When she said she had brought land and that we were moving closer to papy Joe a weight lifted of my shoulders but I still felt hesitant. There were so many opportunities here for Riley and us than there weren't in Texas, but in a few years Papy Joe is gonna need to retire. The discission was so hard to make but when I looked at papy Joe I saw a hopefullness in his eyes and I knew how much I could help him if I were in Texas.

I then looked at Maya. She had always said to me how much she hated Texas but every time we went there she had a gleam in her eye. Maya was a New Yorker and always would be, could she stand Riley and the bump having Texas accents? although that was how I got her, with my southern charm. I looked closer and I knew she wanted to go deep down but she would never admit it to me.

"Ok, we're doing this!" I shouted. Everything was gonna change now!

I really like fhg they moved to Texas I think its a bit of a twiag especially because you would expect Maya to inky want to live in new York. Anyway I hoped youblijed it and if you have any suggestions for a oneshit just let me know.
