Proposal

Maya's POV

"Hey, I didn't move in with you to be your maid!" I yelled into the living room. "Clean up your plates when your done."

"Sorry!" I heard him call back. He had been really distant with me lately and I couldn't tell why.

"Lucas, have I been mean to you lately." I asked trying to put on my serious face so he knew I wasn't joking.

"No more than usually." He smiled before looking at me and then realising how serious I was. "No, I like when your mean to me. I like a challenge." He smiled trying to make me feel better.

"Ok!" I said trying to lean in for a kiss but somehow he completely missed what I was about to do because he jumped up and went back to his laptop. I knew something was up, I just couldn't put my finger on it.

Lucas' POV

I was so nervous I could barely breathe, I had bought the ring months ago and hidden it in my draws but somehow every time I was going to do it I either chickened out or something got in the way like my parents coming round or Riley popping in for a chat. I even tried to take her out for a meal but another man did it for his Fiancé before I could so that was a complete bust too. She knew something was up so I had to do it as soon as possible.

"Look man, make her a nice dinner and pop the question ASAP or she's gonna find out." Farkle urged me. "Do it tomorrow night, your parents are still away on holiday, Riley's at her parents and I'm out of town on a business trip, nothing could disturb you." He had a point, it would be the perfect night.

"Yeah, Farkle your right. I guess I'm doing it tomorrow night." I smiled trying to tell myself nothing would go wrong.

"Lucas you forgetting something... I'm always right!" He bragged making himself laugh.

Maya's POV

I was trying to put Lucas' clothes away when I came across something hard wrapped up in his boxers (or briefs, what we've you like to imagine him wearing 😂😂). I unwrapped it to see a black box and my heart began beating so fast that I had to sit down in the bed.

I didn't really open the box it just sorta popped open so I took a look. It was so beautiful I wanted to cry but when I looked at the inscription it said:

'To my Catherine xx'

It couldn't be true. Why would Lucas be proposing to another girl when he had moved in with me. But it did make me understand why he was being so distant with me. I was so angry I wanted to chop his head off and there was no one to stop me because it was normally him holding me back. The funny thing was that instead of going to kill him I just froze something had come over me.

"Maya come on, dinners getting cold." Lucas called out as he walked into the bedroom.

"How did you find that?" He asked smiling.

Lucas' POV

"How could you do this?" She asked me looking really mad, making wonder what I had done wrong.

"What did I do that was that bad?" I asked feeling so confused.

"Why would you hide this right under my nose?" She yelled while she stood up pacing the room.

"Look I probably should have hidden it better..."

"Why would you do this at all, what is wrong with you?" She began to scream.

"Well... I just?"

"You thought what?" She continued to yell. "That I wouldn't find out!"

"Well I thought you wanted to get married!" I explained, starting to regret my decision.

"What?" She said lowering her voice. "You were going to propose to me?"

"Well, who else would I propose to?" I laughed, still trying to be angry at her.

Maya's POV

"CATHERINE." I raised my voice again, feeling sickened by the name. He looked at it and was stunned.

"That was supposed to say
'To my Clutterbucket'." He explained as he went a blush red.

"Ohh." I said also going a little red. "Aww this was so romantic."

"It would have been if we hadn't decided to do the washing tonight." He whispered making me giggle.

"It that it then?" I asked. "That's why you were acting weird?"

"Yeah I was nervous." He explained.

"So will you?" He asked. "Will you marry me?"...
