Lucaya One Shots

Broken and Mr. Perfect

This is abit of a long one but read it because it's all Lucaya.

Lucas' POV

"Class this week you going to be doing projects together. Its going to be about trying to see if two opposites can see if they gave anytjing incommon. For example Mr. Perfect you will be paired with Maya." He stated.

"Wait why do I have to be with huckleberry?" Maya asked a little confused.

"You wrote on you forehead that you were broken, so something that is perfect and something that is broken should be completely opposite." He explained looking quite pleased with himself.

"I said that like 2 years ago." She moaned at him trying to stare him down.

"Ok, Maya do you feel fixed?" He asked her.

"No." She admitted looking a bit down.

"You have to do things that you would do alone or with your family and report on what you would want in your family after seeing theirs and what you have in common. Ok, so once I've put you in pairs you can leave." He announced taking out a pen and pad. We left and headed to the library.

"Look, it's fine we can just pretend to do it if you really don't want to work with me." I said trying not to show how hurt I was.

"Its not you, I just feel like us doing this together will bring up old feelings that shouldn't be brought up." She explained trying to comfort me.

"It'll be fine, right tell me what similarities do we have in common?" She asked shaking her worries off.

"Well we both like Riley and Farkle." I replied.

"Well I wouldn't say I like
Farkle." She joked around.

"What else?" I questioned her.

"Errrm... I really don't know." She laughed causing me to chuckle with her.

"Well why don't you have dinner at mine tonight, my dad's at home and then we can do the project after?" I asked her putting myself on the line.

"Errm... Yeah ok." She replied allowing relief to pass through me.

That night...

Maya's POV

"Wow, Mrs. Friar this table looks amazing." I told her.

"Thankyou Maya, I love your friend." She ch chuckled to Lucas who was around the table with everyone else. I went to pick up my fork when Lucas took my hand.

"We prey." He whispered to me stopping me from embarrassing myself.

After the prey we started to eat and they all started talking about when he was little.

"Hey lucas can you remember when you walked around naked all day shouting 'im naked man'." His father teased him causing him to go bright red.

And I thought to myself how it was just me and my mum so I didn't get to have big sit down dinners or have my dad tease.me about when was little because I didn't have a dad or Amy other family really. So it was nice to get to experience Lucas'.

"So son, what are you grateful for?" His father asked him.

"I'm greatful for having Maya round tonight because its a lot more fun with you here." He replied sarcastically and everything I hoped wouldn't happen had, my feelings for him were starting to wriggle back in.

"What about you Maya, what are you greatful for?" Mrs. Friar asked me, I looked up feeling very surprised she had even asked me.

"Errggh... Well... I'm greatful for my mother and My friends, I guess... but I'm also greatful to you guys, I never really knew what it was like to have a big family that sat and talked togehter for hours, it's just me and my mom really so we don't get to many of these... So thank you." I looked up from rambling to see lots of faces just staring at me looking really sad.

"Wow Maya." Lucas whispered over to me.

The rest of the meal was a blur, I just watched as they all laughed about all the times they had with their parents and I wished that I could have had a dad to do that with me...

Lucas' POV

I walked Maya home and when we got there her mother came bursting through the door.

"Maya, Lucas come see this!" She yelled taking our arms and pulling us inside.

"Guess what I made!" She announced pointing over at their lounge which now looked like a giant tent. It was full of twinkly light and cushions from the chairs. It looked like so much fun.

"Come inside with us." Maya shouted as she crawled in.

"Do you guys do this a lot?" I asked really confused.

"Obviously." She said pulling me inside. I couldn't believe it. It was so informal my family had never done anything like it. And I really liked it. We had a blast just sitting there talking and joking.

DAY OF THE SPEECH...

"When I spent time with Lucas I released that his family is big and I've always wanted to have a family where I could talk to more than just one person. So I guess what I learned is that when I'm older I want to have a big loving family." She explained to the class.

"I learned that Maya's mother and her have a great bond that makes then really close, they have little adventures together that make then even closer and that's something I don't have. When I'm older I want someone I can tell anything to and they can't to me too." I announced.

"The thing we do have in common is that we both have families that love us and support us no matter if their big or small. We have and always will have them." Maya finished off.

I looked over at Maya and smiled before we took our seats.

I know we don't know a lot about about Lucas' family but I just made them how I thought they should be but if a lot of you don't, just comment and let me know and I will change it.
