Maya's POV

"I don't understand why we have to come every week?" He moaned.

"Because I've always come over for dinner on a Wednesday. Its a Matthew's tradition." I explained.

"Ok, but why can't it be every fortnight, we have to travel the length of the city just to get
here." He continued to complain as we walked into the Matthew's building.

"I'm sorry but who bought us a house on the other side of the city?" I waited for a reply.

"Arrgghh this so getting so ridiculous." He said pushing the elevator button. " what did you want me to do build it on top of skyscrapers?"

"Now your just being stupid." I shouted.

Euuuugh... BONK!!!

Lucas' POV

"What was that?" I asked Maya who looked almost as scared as I felt.

" errghh... Don't worry, I think the elevator just broke down." She replied trying to be upbeat.

"Oh god does that mean we're trapped in this tin can?" I panicked.

"I'm sure it'll be fine, it will probably start moving again in a minute." She reassured me.

A few minutes later...

"You said it would start moving again Maya." I started to panic more. "I can't do this!!"

Maya's POV

He started to move around pacing the floor.

"Maya I'm a country boy I'm not used to small spaces." He started to walk faster and breath heavy. "What's happening to me?"

"You're hyperventilating. You have to calm down." I shouted.

"I can't... help me... Maya." He pleaded through his breaths.

"Come here."I said and pulled him down to the floor. We sat knees to knees and I took hold of the sides of his face.

"You are the bravest man I know did you know that?" I whispered.
"I am?" He asked looking confused.

"You are the best husband and the best father to Riley. You are the most dedicated worker and when I see you on that field doing what you love it makes me so happy. And I'm so glad that you chose me over all those beautiful models all over the world!" I whispered causing his mouth to just be left open but his breathing had gone back to normal.

"Really?" He asked seeming even more surprised. I nodded and he smiled.

"Ok so tell me what you love about me?" I questioned him.

"Why do I have to do it as well?"

"Because I just saved you from passing out." I replied. He stared at me.

"I love the way that you've always bossed me around from the time that I met you and probably to the day that I die. I love the way your eyes get wider when you make fun of me and the way you always get up in the night with Riley because you know how tired I am from practice. I love the way that when we argue somehow you always seem to win but most of all I love the way that you picked me and I dread it when you realize that you could have any man in the world." He whispered into my ear.

I didn't know what to say I was speechless. I held in my breath and leant in but before I could reach his lips...

Ding!!!

The elevators doors opened and in front of two very stunned people were the Matthews all peering in to see what was going.
