Maya's POV

I stared out at this wonderful view that Lucas had designed the house around just so that I could be inspired and I felt so guilty because no matter what I did I couldn't get any ideas for what to paint. I couldn't tell if it was the stress of having to have it done by the gallery opening or if I was truly just out of ideas.

"Arrgghh!!?" I screamed at the top of my lungs trying to relieve some of the built up stress that I couldn't get rid of.

"Maya?" I heard from the next room. "Is everything ok?"

"Yeah." I tried to be enthusiastic because he watching a baseball game and I hated making him miss it. I never realised how sporty he was until I moved in with him.

"What's wrong?" I saw his head peep in from behind the door.

"What is on your head?" I giggled.

"It's a cowboy hat." He explained. "I thought you said I looked great in a cowboy hat."

"Yeah when your in Texas and your on a horse." I pointed out still giggling. "Not when your in a star wars Pyjamas."

"Don't lie to yourself." He smirked. "You know you find this hot. Now tell me what's wrong Clutterbucket?"

"No don't worry about me, go watch the game."

"Maya tell me." Lucas persisted.

"Ok." I gave in. "I have no painting left in me, I have nothing. Not one idea."

"Look... Try to take break it will help you to relax!" He explained.

"Yeah maybe I should do that." I smiled.

"And if that fails you could just draw me in this amazing cowboy hat." He joked posing as if he was a model.

"Get out huckleberry." I laughed gesturing to the door.

He shut the door and that's when I began to really think. He was the one that made sure I could see the beautiful view, he made me my studio and whenever I needed inspiration he was always there to take me on a new adventure. In that moment I realised that Lucas was my muse. I couldn't believe that I had ever taken that for granted...

I worked so hard on my painting and the night of the gallery opening was the first time I was truly excited about sharing my work because Lucas was going to see how much he meant to me.

"Are you ready babe?" He said to me as we sat in the car.

"Promise me you'll like my painting?" I asked now feeling a little insecure and completely ignoring anything he had just said.

"Maya do you really believe that I would ever hate your work?" He said making a really disappointed face. I shrugged my shoulders I didn't really know what he thought when he saw my paintings.

"Every time I see anything you paint I feel so lucky that someone as talented as you chose some baseball player, so don't ever doubt that I like your paintings ok?" He explained making me feel a little more relieved

When we got inside I was so excited to show him the painting that I almost tripped taking him over to it.

When he saw the painting he didn't move and his face was still there was no frown or smile I didn't know how to take it.

Lucas' POV

When I saw the painting I froze in place. It was the nicest thing she had ever done for me. It was a painting of a cowboy on a horse in New York and I knew exactly what she was telling me she didn't  have to say a word.

"Thank you!" I said turning to her and kissing her on the forehead.

"I wanted to tell you how much you inspire me Lucas, you really help me with everything and I don't want you to think I take it for granted." She murmured trying not to let any tears fall from her teary eyes.

"It's what I'm here for." I whispered as I wrapped my arms around her and kissed her again.
