I know it's been so long but I thought it was time for a new one. It's probably bot the cheeriest but cancer has been a big thing in my life recently and I wanted to share how it can change lives. Thank you and I hope you like it 😘

Maya's POV

I felt myself falling as the words came from Dr. Reid's mouth. It was like more he spoke the further away I became. I looked over a him. His face was white but he listened as though everything was fine. I didn't feel the same, nothing was ok anymore I needed more time... more time with him.

We picked up Riley from day care and he smiled and sung silly songs with her. I needed him to say something. How did he feel?

Its later and Riley's asleep.

I watched him as he came down the stairs, it was like I always watched him now. The way he walked, the way he smiled, his laugh. I didn't want to forget anything. He sat down next to me.

"Did you want to watch TV?" He asked, picking the up the remote. I just looked at him.

"What's up?"

"Are you actually asking me what's wrong?" I raised my voice.

"Maya?" He said.

"No I can't take it Lucas. Do something scream, yell, cuss, cry, smash up the house. Just do something , anything!" I stopped talking for a breath of air,

"I just need to know how you feel?!"

"Are you finished?" He asked grinning at the Side of his mouth.

"Yes." I giggled stopping myself so I could stay serious.

Lucas' POV

I looked over at her and I could see that me trying to stay strong for her and keep to the normal was hurting her more.

"I'm scared Maya!" I explained with a frog in my throat.

"You shouldn't be scared of death Lucas, I'm going to be with you right till the end." She cried.

"I'm not scared of having cancer or dying Maya."

"Then what are you scared of?" She cried looking slightly confused.

"I'm scared of not being with you!" I raised my voice.

She said nothing she just ran over to me and sobbed in my arms.

Then I heard her say while her head was buried in my chest.

"I'm scared of loosing you, and Riley not having you." She lifted her head.

"How am I ever going to convince her that you're the greatest dad if you're not here to show her.?"

"She'll believe you because you're here to be the greatest mom."

We spent that night talking, like we did when we first moved in together. We started to plan what we'd do in the future and she cried the whole way through. We knew it would never happen but it made us happy thinking about what might have been.

Maya's POV

I held in as many tears as I could last night. The few weeks we had left together I was going to spend every second with him. Every now and then he crept off to go do something but I knew he was just taking time to himself to think about what he wanted to say to Riley.
