Luggage Mishap

Maya's POV

I couldn't believe this was happening today of all days. We had finally arrived on our honeymoon after a 10 hour flight to find our luggage missing.

Everything was perfect, the venue, my dress even my chaotic family. I just knew something like this was going to happen to us.

We stood in a line of people, right behind a family with about 9 kids, I lost count after 5 of them because they kept moving around so much

"We are not having more than 4?" I whispered over into Lucas's ear.

"Make it 3!" He whispered back.

Then, when the family finally got to the front desk and I thought we were so close, they couldn't find what they needed, so they spent another 15 minutes looking through all there bags to realize that they left it on the plane.

Finally it was us

"We can't seem to find our suitcases?" Lucas said to the lady behind the desk while rubbing my back so I wouldn't loose it.

"Sorry sir but we might have sent them to another country but if you sit and wait I will contact security and try to see where they are."

"We don't want to know where they are we want them to be here with..."

"Thankyou we'll wait" Lucas yelled over me, cutting me off before I said something stupid.

We sat there a while and Lucas tried to tell me about all the wonderful things that were going to do while we were here, I think he was just trying to distract me so I didn't realize how long we had been sitting there for.

Lucas' POV

"WOULD MR AND MRS. FRIAR COME TO THE FRONT DESK PLEASE??!!" I heard over the intercom.

"Maya that's us" I said trying to get her attention.

"What no it's not that's Mr and Mrs... Oh yeah!" The light went on and I could see how happy she was, I tried not to show my smile but somehow it popped out.

We got back to the front desk to find the line about 10 minutes long which was a big improvement from earlier. I could see Maya was still smiling from the intercom message, but if they didn't have our luggage she wasn't going to be that way for long.

When we got to the front desk she smiled at us

"We have your suitcases, they got mixed up in the the loading deck and we would like to give you a complimentary coupon for our cafe for your inconvenience."

I could see Maya starting to bubble but I just smiled back at the lady and lead maya away from her.

THE NEXT DAY

The sand was bliss as I squished my feet in, letting grains cover some of my toes. The sea was an almost translucent blue allowing you to see right down to the bottom where the creatures crawled around. And the sound of the waves were calming making me feel almost completely content. After about half a hour of staring at the sea I was happy to hear Lucas yell

"Maya, come see this." from in the trees.

"Now coming." I said jumping of my chair excited to finally do something else. There was Lucas looking up at nothing

"What am I looking at?" I asked, feeling more confused as the seconds went by.

"At the bird, its a swallow." He replied.

"I've known you for 8 years and i have never known you to pay any attention to birds and that isn't a swallow, spill."

"I know you like to relax which is why I haven't said anything, but I'm really bored." He said looking down, I started to giggle.

"What are you laughing at?"

"You should have said, I like realxing but do you know how long I have been staring at nothing for, I'm so bored, come on let's go, Ranger Rick." I took his hand and lead him out of the trees

"Why don't we just go back to the hotel room, it would be a lot more fun?" He whispered in my ear. I laughed and nodded now starting to run down the beach, now he was pulling me along.
