Lucaya One Shots

Texas Part 5

This is a another part to 'Texas part 4' so if you haven't read it you should go back to the start of my one shots and read it. I hope you like it and if you have any suggestions just comment to let me know.

Maya's POV

It had been ages since we had been to Texas and yet again me and Riley had no idea who Lucas liked and I honestly wished it was me But it had always been Lucas and Riley so I guess it just made sense that he would like her over me.

"Guys you have to meet my new horse I got her a couple of months ago!" Lucas gestured over to the barn.

"Cool what's her name?" Farkle asked him.

"Beauty." He replied opening the giant barn doors.

"Why, Beauty?" Riley questioned him.

"Errrrr... She was already named that." He replied acting a little suspicious but I shrugged it off.

When we walked up to her stall I saw how beautiful she was. Her hair was a sandy colour and her mane was up in a this magical braid.

"She's really stubborn." Lucas warned us. "But whenever I come back from New York to visit she's always so much happier, well that's what pappy Joe says anyway."

I could tell that he really loved her and the way she kept coming over to him and nuzzling her head on his shoulders I could tell she loved him a lot too.

"Do you guys want to ride her?" He asked us all.

"No, I stick to indoors stuff like computers. But thanks man." Farkle backed out.

"Have you seen how clumsy I am?" Riley said stepping backwards.

"Yeah maybe you shouldn't." Lucas laughed. "What about you maya?"

"I don't know Lucas I'm a city girl!" I explained.

"Come on, I know you'll get along." He assured me.

A little while later....

"Are you sure I should do this?" I asked him.

"Yes I'm sure, come on I'll help you up." He said pushing me up into the saddle. "See look she likes you!"

"Lucas I'm scared!" I whispered trying not to scare her.

"I'll come up with you." He said climbing on and taking the reigns.

"Now hold on tight." He laughed.

"Why Lucas?" I yelled as I put my arms around him squeezing him tight.

We started to moving and I was terrified for s moment but then I opened my eyes and I could see everything moving so fast around me and I looked up at Lucas who seemed to be having so much fun it reminded me of the scene form Harry spotter when he rode buckbeak for the first time. It made me feel so good I couldn't believe that one beautiful creature could give anyone so much happiness. It was breath taking.

"Did you enjoy it?" Riley asked me as I got off of Beauty.

"It was amazing!" I exploded.

"Maybe I could give it a try next time!" she giggled looking over at Lucas. That's when I knew I should get over him and pretend that we never happened.

That night around the campfire...

"Wow watching you up on that horse with Lucas I could tell you were enjoyin' it." Pappy Joe said.

"It was so good, I've never felt such a rush and having Lucas up there with me helped and we could all tell how much he loved her." I explained.

"Yeah ever since he got blonde beauty he's gotten back into riding, they have quite the connection!" Pappy Joe said making me gasp inside.

"Wait did you say BLONDE beauty?" Farkle questioned him. "Don't you mean Beauty?"

"Well I wanted to just give her one name but Lucas insisted we call her blonde beauty, he said she reminded him of someone."

I couldn't believe what pappy joe had said but I couldn't help but look over at Riley and her face was covered with confusion.

"Got the fire wood!" Lucas announced coming out of the bushes.

"Lucas why did you name your horse blonde beauty?" Riley asked and couldn't help but look away still hoping inside he was talking about me.

"Erghhh because she reminded me of someone." He looked down.

"Who?!" Riley shot back.

"Well... Maya."  He went red.

"Why didn't you tell us this." She asked him.

"Because she might have been insulted that I named a horse after her!" He pointed out. "Look blonde beauty is fierce and independent. She fights back she's not like the rest of the horses and I guess Maya's personality is similar. I know it's weird maya and I'm sorry if I insulted you!"

"It's not insulting, thank you for naming her after me."

The rest of the night was sort of a blur but that moment gave me hope that maybe he didn't just think of me as His friend.
