First Christmas

Thankyou to the person who suggested this one shot Bilbobaggins00. I really enjoyed writing it. And as promised its been uploaded at midnight on New years, So happy New Years everybody!!!!!!

Lucas' POV

"Hey." I shouted. "What about this one?"

"No, it's not the best one." She said walking over to me.

"Fine what sort of tree do you want?" I asked her.

"I want the most expensive one on the lot because the most expensive means it's the best." She said taking my hand and pulling me along beside her.

"Ok, what about this one?" I asked her.

"Is it the biggest and the best?" She replied.

"I'd say yes but I'll probably be wrong won't I?" I sighed. She nodded continuing to walk through a forest of Christmas trees.

A little while later...

"Ok, I asked the tree lot manager and he said this one is the most expensive one on the lot." I explained to Maya. She looked at it for a moment and then said.

"Well I guess this is the one
but.." She paused.

"Look, I don't really like it, it just doesn't really feel like us does it. Why does it have to be the biggest and the best?" I asked her.

"Well... Its our first Christmas together and I guess... I just wanted it to be perfect." She explained.

"We're not perfect and we shouldn't try to be. Let's be us, ok?"

"Ok!" She agreed. "So let's pick out a tree more like us. What one should we get?"

"Well, what about this one." I said pointing over at a small tree in the corner.

"Well I guess so... But why?" She asked looking at me curiously.

"It's boring on its own but when its full of lights its magical. Its
us." I explained

"What?" She looked at me confused.

"I'm the tree Maya. I'm boring on my own, but your around everything lights up." I realized how cheesy u sounded straight after it but Maya smiled.

"Your a good guy Lucas." She said trying to hide how much she was smiling. But I didn't say a word I just kept looking at her contently.

"Ok, let's go get this tree!" She shouted wiping away the tear that had just fell from her eye and walking towards the manager.

Maya's POV

"No more to the right." I said
"No to the left a bit."

"Really!! We're going to be here for hours." He grumbled.

"Wait, that's it, its perfect." I explained helping him up.

"Wow all that effort for a Christmas tree." He moaned.

"Yes but look how beautiful it is in our lounge." I said trying to make him circum to the spirit of Christmas.

"It doesn't even have any decorations on it yet." He continued to grumble.

"Oh, so you like things to be decorated. Maybe I'll never take my decorations off again." I teased him.

"Oh, you know what the tree looks beautiful without anything on it. Maybe you should do the same." He tried to come back from it.

"No, no if you like things dressed up I'll never take my clothes off again." I giggled pushing my top off my shoulders to show a bit of strap and then lifting it up again.

"Do you enjoy teasing me." He glared at me.

"Yes Huckleberry, I do." I smiled walking into the bedroom while he followed behind.
