Maya's POV

There had been this boy talking to me everyday at school, he seemed alright but I still had feelings for Lucas so I would have never gone there, besides I had heard he wasn't nice to some kids.

"Hey Maya!" I heard someone shout from down the hallway. I turned my head wishing it wasn't him him. And just my luck, It was him.

"Hey Chad, what's up?" I asked hoping he would say nothing and walk away.

"Nothing much." He responded. "But I was wondering if you might want to go out Saturday."

As soon as he said it I got a horrible feeling in my stomach and it defiantly wasn't butterflies.

"Errghh... I'm really sorry but." As I tried to explain I saw his face change. "I still have feelings for someone else. It wouldn't be fair on you."

"Fair on me." He yelled making everyone look and watch us. "I didn't want to go out with you anyway you shrimp, I only asked because I felt sorry for you."

And before I could say a word he stormed off leaving me there with people staring.

After that, every time he saw me worse insults came out of his mouth. Some of the words are that bad that I wont tell you them.
I didn't want to tell anyone because it was embarrassing but one day he was going to say something in from of them and then my life will officially be over.

"What's up?" Lucas asked. "You've been acting really weird lately?"

"Nothing I'm fine." I replied shutting my locker door but when I did I saw Chad and I couldn't stand it if Lucas found out, I wouldn't be able to face him again.

"I've got to go sorry... Bye." I yelled running down the corridor before Chad could see me.

Lucas' POV

There was something really really wrong with Maya. She was never this skittish, in fact she was the care free, no rules girl. That was why I decided to stalk her for a day (not in a weird way, I just wanted to know exactly what was going on).

The day seemed pretty normal up until she got to her locker and that's when it all became a blur.

Maya's POV

"Hey sl*t." I heard from behind me. I begged it not to be him but there was no hope. I turned around to see Chad standing there.

"What do you want Chad?" I sighed.

"Nothing from you, might catch something!" He shouted making his friends behind him laugh.

"Look I'm sorry that I don't feel the same as you but there's no need to be this horrible."

"What the hell are you talking about, your deluded, you dirt whor..."

Before Chad could finished the end of his sentence a fist came flying from out of nowhere right into his face making him smash into the lockers. I looked up to see Lucas standing there with his arms flexing and his eyes widened.

I was expecting shame fill me but it never came all I felt was relief that someone was there with me. Lucas made me stronger but now he was in trouble.

"What did you do that for?" I asked. "Your gonna be in so much trouble."

"No one ever calls my Maya them words... Never!" He smiled, slowing his breathing. "Can we get some ice for my hand before we go to the principles office?"

"Yeah." I smiled.

"Why didn't you tell me?" He questioned me lowering his voice even more.

"Because of this." I laughed before pushing on his hand making him yelp out in pain.

"Haha very funny!" He moaned taking my arm and leading me towards the cafeteria.
