Lucas' POV

"Come on they'll be fine with Darcy?" I shouted through the door into the house.

"So Darcy, remember they have to be in bed by 8, ok?" I heard Maya explaining to the nanny.

"Maya?" I called again but this time a little louder.

"Ok, ok." She giggled walking towards the door.

"Everything will be just fine Mr. And Mrs. Friar." Darcy assured us as we got in the car and drove away.

I looked over at Maya. She was wearing this skin tight, red dress that came just above her knees and she wore half her hair up so that some fell down her back. She was looking out the window thinking and I knew exactly what she was thinking about.

"Maya?" I said.

"Yeah?" She replied glumly.

"Stop thinking about the kids, there fine." I assured her.

"Yeah probably... But couldn't I just run up to make sure." She had cracked under the pressure.

"No." I yelled trying to keep my eyes on the road. "Let's make a packed no talking about the kids until we get home, ok?"

"Ok, fine." She replied reluctantly.

"So what'd you do today?" I tried to make conversation.

"Oh, well I went to this cute boutique with Riley and we got some cute little clothes..." She stopped before I even realised myself. "This is gonna be harder than I thought."

"We can do this clutter bucket." I avowed as we pulled up into the parking lot of a really nice (really expensive) restaurant. "So do you like it?"

"Yes, I love it." She beamed. "Happy anniversary Huckleberry."

"Happy anniversary Clutterbucket!" I screamed making other people coming of the restaurant stare.

"Wow, this is a really nice place." Maya squealed.

"Well I thought we haven't done anything like this in a while, so why not!" I laughed.

"This isn't really us though is it." She cautioned me.

"I'm sure it'll be fine." I assured her.

When we got to our table I realised that maybe I had gone a little bit over board. The water was poured out of bottles and I couldn't even understand the menu. When I looked over at Maya she was even more confused than me.

"Lucas are you really sure we should be here?" She asked.

"This is fine, stop worrying." I calmed her down.

"Aww guess what Shawn did the other day?" I questioned her and as I did she gave me this piercing look as if she knew better but I couldn't make out why she was so upset until I went over what I said in my
Mind.

"Why does it matter if we're here Lucas?" She argued standing up out of her chair and walking out making me follow behind her. "Why can't we talk about our kids?"

"Promise you won't laugh?" I asked her.

"What's cause I won't laugh?" She agreed.

"Well, Richard from work is in this new relationship where everything is fun and exciting and I'm just well... Worried that we're born gold people that go to the same restaurant and talk non stop about our kids." Immediately after I explained Maya burst into fits of laughter.

"Hey, you said you would laugh." I argued.

"Oh huckleberry huckleberry." She said wiping the tears from her face. "We are boring and were old and married. But can you remember everything we had to go through to get where we are. Richard now had Togo through that!"

"Oh I never really thought about it that way." I chirped.

"We are secure and that's what most people have to really fight for in life, we're lucky it was so easy." She explained. "So can we go to our normal restaurant? And can we talk about the kids?" I nodded as we got in the car and drive away. And yet again I found myself watching her as she told me all about the funny Kings the kids had done that day.

When we got home every thing seemed silent and when we walked into the living room there in the couch we're the kids.

"You guys did so good, right everybody off to bed." I commanded as I walked up the stairs myself.

Maya's POV

I watched Lucas go up the stairs and into our room.

"Ok you heard what dad said, off to bed all of you!" I shouted as I also walked up the stairs.

"Guys by the way I noticed the vase and whoever broke it is grounded for a month." I giggled feeling a little smug.
