"So, why did you bring me here?" Henry asked. He was sitting with his mother on his castle. Emma had not said a word since they arrived.

"I need to tell you a story." she declared.

"A story, huh? Is it-"

"The one you've been asking for since you brough me to Storybrooke, yeah." she said.

"Why did you decide to tell me?" he asked.

"Because, something in this story concerns you." she briefly explained.

"He's my-"

"No. No, he's not your father. I knew Killian when I was 16, two years before you were born." Emma said. "And I met him because he was my neighbourg after foster parents took me to my new home."

"Where was it?" asked the curious boy.

"Not so far from Boston." she said. "And so, Killian and I became friends. I had some... troubles at school, because I was the new girl, but he helped me a lot." Emma said. She was reliving these moments in a way. These were moments she had burried a long time ago, but she needed to tell her son how she learned who her mother was. "Then, I found out who my mother was, well only her name, kind of like what you did to find me I guess. I loved my foster parents, but I knew that there was something that they did not have, because... we didn't share the same DNA."

"It's like you and me." Henry said.

"Yeah, kid." she said and smiled.

"And who was your mother? Well... my grandmother?" he asked.

"I...uh, let me continued and I'll tell you, okay?" she hesitated and he nodded. "So then, I told Killian and well, he encouraged me to go and see her someday, he even suggested we'd go together, but I wasn't really ready. I was afraid that well... she would not like me or not want me. Still, I was closer and closer to Killian even if it wasn't always easy with school and... yeah, he was the first person I ever loved, if I can say that." Emma declared.

"Loved? So, you do not love him anymore?"

"Things change, kid. I was 16 back then and I haven't seen him in years. We both grew up apart. Things change." Emma explained.

"What happened after? Why did you run away after, if you loved him?" Henry asked.

"I didn't leave because of him. There's something that happened with my foster parents. It is not important for now, but that is what caused me to run away, even if I still loved Killian. And so, I decided to run to the place he had encouraged me to go, where my mother was and it turns out, she lived in Storybrooke, Maine. That's why I knew the town already and that is where the part that concerns you arrives."

Emma stopped for a moment, because she still wasn't sure of the way to announce that to him. He was looking ah her with wide eyes, waiting for the rest of the story.

"I met my mother, by accident at Granny's diner or well, I talked to her for the first time right outside. I knew what was her name and what she looked like, so I recognized her, but she didn't, until I asked her..." she took a deep breath. "Until I asked her if she was Mary Margaret Blanchard."

There was silence for a moment and Emma totally understood that he needed to take in that declaration.

"Miss Blanchard, is my grandmother?" he asked.

"Yeah, kid. She is. She didn't know until you brought me here, but you know what, you're lucky because you get the best grandma in the world." Emma said and smiled.

"Emma Swan." Killian declared as he sat in front of her, in a booth at Granny's.

"Killian Jones." she replied with a smirk.

"What are you doing here?" he asked.

"Huh, driking at hot cocoa." she said and pointed her cup. "Oh, thanks for bringing Henry home. I know Regina doesn't really like me being around him, because of the closed adoption..."

"It's alright. Anyway, I've always liked spending time with him." he shrugged. "So, are you going back at the end of the week?" he asked and she looked at her cup.

"I don't know. I just... moved in with my mother, I guess. And there's my dad in the hospital, my son here. Maybe I should stay?" she replied.

"I think you should. I think you need a family." Killian said.

"You're probably the only person I let talk about my family." she said and laughed as she remembered that guy, Ryan, that had pissed her off a few days ago, talking about family.

"What's funny?"

"I punched a guy because he told me I didn't know a thing about family, few days ago." she said and laughed once more.

"Oh, badass." he commented and smiled.

"Yeah, I know." she joked and took a sip of her cup.
