A couple of days go by, and Kelsey and Chris have been great, Chris hasn't heard from Kendall in a while. She decides to take a run and runs by the park and sees Chris's friends and Chris playing a pickup game of basketball. Chris is moving around good on the court, shirtless and sweating profusely since it's warm outside. He pulls back, shooting a three and swishing, throwing his hands up in the air, indicating the game is over.
Kendall walks up to the court just as the guys are getting some water, pulling on their shirts, "Nice shot," Kendall smiles.
"Hey," wiping his forehead with his shirt, "Thanks," the guys heading out.
"Sorry to run everyone off. You still move pretty well for an old guy," Kendall winks as she slaps the ball out of his hands and doing a spin, getting past Chris, finishing off with a layup.
"I am not an old guy," Chris smirks, watching her make a layup.
"Uh huh no spring chicken," Kendall teases even though he's only a few months older than her. She makes a few baskets.
Chris smiles as he watches her, always good at basketball. He finds it attractive when a woman can play sports. After rebounding the ball, he shoots and the ball going through the net.
"A little one on one?" Kendall suggests after rebounding, trying to go around him, switching ways.
"Oh, so you want a beat down?" Chris winks.
"Please," raising an eyebrow, "I'm going to kick your butt."
"Deal then," taking the ball from Kendall and dribbling it between his legs. "We have to make this interesting though."
"Oh, and what's that?"
"Hm, what do you think?"
"Loser buys drinks after this," Kendall says going in, trying to get past Chris but unable to, taking a step back and making a three. "Did you see that?"
"Deal and that was a lucky shot," passing the ball back to Kendall.
"Luck has nothing to do with it, all skill baby."
Chris notices her call him baby but not saying anything as he guards Kendall, waiting for her to move. She goes to his right, remembering it's his dominant hand, so she fakes it and goes left, barely getting past Chris for a layup.
"Have you been practicing?"
"Maybe I just had a good teacher," Kendall reminiscing back in middle school and high school, "but I played a little here and there."
"Alright game point, no pressure," passing the ball to Kendall.
"No worries, you aren't going to get it," Kendall says pressing her back against him as Chris guards her and turning, shooting but hitting the rim as she tries to rebound. Chris coming up with it, he rebounds the ball, and after checking at the top of the key, he pulls up for a jumper, the ball banking in.
"Just lucky," Kendall smiles walking back towards the bench.
"So uh you're buying drinks now?" smirking at Kendall as he grabs his keys, shirt, and water bottle.
"I owe you a drink," Kendall smiles.
