Chapter 23: Julia's Doctor-Hunky-Blue-Eyes

This chapter will be in Julia's POV and Riley's the hunky-blue eyes doctor man.  Mel's POV will be included once or twice.

---Julia's POV---

I was babysitting for Melanie at my place when there was a knock on the door.  I went to get it checking to see who it was first.  I opened it up a little because Leah was behind me in her diaper.  "Riley, what are you doing here?"

"I just came to see why you've been avoiding me lately.  Did I do something wrong?"

"Can you call me later?  I'm babysitting for Mel and Danny."  Leah was crying because she wanted either Melanie or Danny.  She was pulling on my pant leg.  She was dealing with a rash.  I picked her up.  Riley stepped in.  "You can't stay."

"You need help."  He took Leah.  "Do you have baby lotion?"  I dug through the bag and found it.  

After Melanie left I was sitting on the couch.  My knees against my chest.  Riley sitting beside me.  "What'd I do baby?"

"You broke our date again."

"Because I had work."  I shook my head.  My eyes started to sting.  "What?"

"I saw you having dinner with some girl."

"Julie, I'm not..."

"Why'd you lie to me?  Who is she anyway?"

"My sister.  I didn't mean to lie.  I didn't want you to be mad.  Too late anyway.  I should have told you.  I'm sorry."  he moved over.  "Do you forgive me?"  he said inching closer.  I saw his hand inching closer to my side.  I jumped up and he grabbed my waist tickling me.  I laughed.  He kissed me.  My lips parted with his.

A week later, I was at Riley's.  He was having a BBQ.  Everyone in my family was invited and some of his family was there.  It was the 4th of July and it was nearly 100 degrees out.  Melanie, Danny, and I were playing with the kids in the hose.  Riley was talking to my dad.  I sprayed him with the hose.  He chased me.  He caught my waist making me laugh.  He spun me around.  Dan Jr. had the hose.  "Get her buddy."  He sprayed us both.  Melanie and I were sitting on the ground in the sun drying off.  Lena and Leah were playing with some of their dolls.  Leah held out her doll and some the shoes to it.  Melanie pulled her in her lap and helped her put them on.  Christina was busy helping my mom.  Eliott was helping Riley with the grill.  Eliott Jr. was crawling around with Zora and Zeke's puppies.  I stood up and picked up Eliott Jr. and one of the puppies.  The puppy licked Eliott's face.  He laughed.  I sat down beside Melanie.  Eliott Sr. came over and crouched beside us.  "Can you feed him for me?  It's almost time for his nap.  Tina's busy and he likes you.  He doesn't eat for me."

"Yeah sure."  he handed me little man's bottle.

"Thanks sis."  He went back over to Riley.  Little man started to doze off after he ate.  I stood up with him.  He put his head on my shoulder and I carried him inside.  Tina looked up.

"Hey.  Thanks for getting him to sleep."

"No problem."  she took him from me.  I went outside.  Riley was on his way in.  "Hey bozo."

"Hey."  he gave me a kiss.  I went outside and sat with Mel at the table on the deck.  Riley came out handed me a bottle of water and then handed Mel one.  He tossed Danny a bottle of tea.

"Thanks."  Melanie put her feet in Danny's lap.  Leah was walking toward the woods.

"Miss Leah, come back this way."
