Niall's POV
Well, it's the worst day of the week. Spencer is going home today. She leaves tonight. She has to leave right before our show. Honestly, it sucks. I want more time with her. I probably won't even see her until next month! That's too long.
"Ugh." She she groans and finally zips up her suitcase.
"I really do hate packing." She says and sits on the bed.
"Can't you stay another day or two?" I asks.
"No. El and I are going back together."
"Why doesn't she stay a few days longer, too?"
"Because, both our jobs have limits, and it honestly brings in a lot of business. For some reason, girls love asking us for advice. She gets asked all the time where she works."
"Because they want to know what you guys would wear."
"Cause we're fabulous!" She says in a geeky voice making me laugh.
"You're something." I say and sit next to her.
"Extra special." She says and kisses my cheek. I sigh and she looks at me funny.
"What? You don't like it when I kiss your cheek?"
"No, it's not that. I love it when you do that."
"I know you don't want me to leave, but we have to get used to this kind of separation." She says.
"I know. I just hate it."
"Me too, but it comes with your job."
"I know. And I love my job."
"I like your job too."
"Why? Shouldn't you hate my job because we are apart so much?" I ask confused.
"Niall you're forgetting something."
"What?"
"Your job is the reason we met and became best friends. And then we became more than that." She answers and I turn my head to smile at her.
"True that." I say and kiss her. I feel her lips curve upward into a smile.
"I love you." I say and rest my forehead on hers.
"I love you too." She says and kisses me.
"Glad we've settled that we love each other a lot." She says and we bother chuckle.
"So, what's the plan?" I ask, hoping she'd change her answer.
"Hop on the plane with Eleanor and go home." She says and looks down.
"But-"
"No buts." She says and points her finger at me. She pokes my nose, and I can't help but smile at her.
"I hate this." I grumble.
"So do I." She says and sighs.
"We'll be able to make it, right?" I ask.
"What do you mean?"
"All this time apart, our relationship will last, right?"
"Of course, Niall. Why? Do you think it won't?"
"I don't know. It's hard to say."
"What does that mean?"
"It's a lot of time apart."
"So?"
"So, it's a lot of time not seeing each other and not talking a lot."
"We talk every day."
"I mean, well, face to face. What if we have a fight? We can't really talk it out that easily."
"Of course we can."
"You're positive?"
"You aren't?" She asks. She says it slightly annoyed.
"I don't know." I say truthfully.
"You don't think we'd be able to work out a spat over the phone?"
"I don't know!"
"How? It just takes calling the person and apologizing or talking things through!"
"I know. It's just not as easy as solving it in person."
"Well, we'd have to figure something out. Relationships aren't always easy."
"You think we could?" I ask.
"You don't?"
"I don't think so." I answer and realize I shouldn't have said that. She stares blankly at me.
"Well, you figure that out. El and I have to leave."
"Spencer, wait." I say and stand up.
"Wait." I repeat and she's out the door.
"Hello? Wait." I run after her. She's at Louis's door. I see Eleanor open it and look at Spencer confused.
"Spencer!" I run up to her and turn her to face me.
"Niall, just go." She mumbles.
"No I-"
"Just go. I'll call you when I land. Just go." She says.
"Spencer. C'mon. Listen to me."
"Niall, stop. We have to leave." She says and points to Eleanor. Eleanor nods. I see her suitcase behind her.
"I'm sure you could wait a minute, seeing it's a private plane."
"Niall, I'm serious. I'll call you when we land. Just go!"
"Are you kidding me?!" I shout and she takes a step back.
"Don't bother calling me when you land. Bye." I spat and walk back to my room. I don't even turn back to show her tears have started to form.
Why did she make a big deal out of this?! I just wanted to make sure we could work things out if something went wrong. Obviously not, seeing something just went wrong, and she wouldn't talk to me. She just pushed the problem to another time. This relationship isn't going to work out if we can't even solve a problem that's right in front of us.
