Always remember that your biological sex is different from your gender. Your gender is in your mind and it doesn't always necessarily match your bio sex. That's why you can get a sex change, not a gender change. No one can change your gender.
Therefore, if you happen to be FtM but you still enjoy wearing feminine clothing and stuff, it's completely fine. Your clothing and interests do not define your gender. In contrast, if you're MtF and you don't want long hair or make up, you're still trans. It's completely up to you.
What you need to realize is that inanimate objects are not gendered. Colors are not gendered.
Inanimate objects and colors may be stereotyped, yes, but that's society's issue, not ours.
Once again, I'll use myself as an example. I identify as transgender FtM. I'm not the most feminine person, and I don't particularly like being feminine, but in some ways I still am. I like to wear rings and other jewelry. I have had my ears pierced multiple times. And sometimes, I even enjoy wearing a dress(though not a lot).
You see? What you do, say, and wear does not define your gender. YOU define your gender.
