Some states and areas require proof of a sex reassignment surgery before they will change the gender marker on your birth certificate. Some people don't really know what this means, so I figured I'd tell you here. This will be a very short chapter.
Sex reassignment surgeries are any surgery meant to take you on the journey to changing your sex. HRT doesn't count because it isn't a surgery, but top surgery and bottom surgery count legally. Some places will even accept liposuction procedures meant to give you the shape of the opposite sex, though not many surgeons will perform this procedure.
I personally think it's dumb that some places require proof of sex reassignment surgery. Not everyone can afford those surgeries right away, and not everyone wants them.
